American Buffalo char-grilled steak — Restaurant in Zhongzheng District

Ordered a steak 7份熟, manager of the place shook his head and said I should try it 5份熟. I said ok, and on my receipt it says 5份熟. (I just found out after I got back that 7 is medium well and 5 is medium.) Anyway, the steak that I received was well done on one half and medium on the other.

My girlfriend also ordered a ribeye "5份熟" except hers was entirely well done. Manager came back and said the quality of the meat was very good and that it was 5份熟 (medium) when it was very obviously well done. He said he would replace hers. Not too long after she got two steaks which were obviously not ribeyes and they were rare! Manager said he gave he cooked it 3份熟 (medium rare). Why though? She never asked for medium...

I would say the overall experience is average and it is unlikely I'll come back. The interior decoration is rough and rustic, but in a good way. It makes you want to sit down and order a big ole steak. Yet, I already had steak that day, so I ordered the chicken wings and chicken salads. I chicken was a little too oily for me. It was juicy as a result of the excess grease. Furthermore, the sauce was literally Frank's Hot Sauce. They should of put the bottle on the table rather than place it in a small dish to look special. The salad without the chicken was the best part…thanks to ranch. Lastly, the staff gave no impression. Very neutral expression...

The place is quite small but convivial. The price is nice as it includes a whole set for 599nt with salad (ok taste) + soup (good, kind of creamy) + bread (nothing special + steak (good, but we asked medium rare and it was actually cooked completely rare) - be careful, we didn't understand that the steak was mandatory served with the set, so we ordered too much on the side. As a nice gesture, they allowed us to remove one of the side dish as we made a mistake.

However, I was quite surprised that they don't have BBQ sauce , which is a must I believe for an "american" style restaurant. Would be nice if it could be added.
