An absolute Taipei classic, Olympia Bakery (世運麵包) is a beloved institution that has been delighting customers since 1950. Stepping inside feels like walking into a piece of local history, especially since this was a favorite spot for my in-laws decades ago! Even today, the interior is bustling, yet incredibly well-organized, with shelves and display cases fully stocked with every imaginable kind of baked good, from traditional Taiwanese pineapple cakes and mooncakes to classic Western-style buns and breads. The variety is staggering, and everything we purchased—from pastries to the boxed specialties—was fresh and incredibly tasty. The service is efficient, and despite the continuous flow of customers, everything runs smoothly. The atmosphere itself, filled with the aroma of fresh baking, is its own reward. The prices are completely fair, offering great value for such high-quality baked items. This place is fantastic! They have a mix of bakery items and dim sum. The bakery items are of very high quality and each tastes quite different. It's not like they use the same base material and just change up the flavors.

What really stands out is that they have vegetarian options. I got a fantastic tofu/mushroom roll for 70NT and some innari with edamame and quinoa. The roll was so delicious and I'm already planning to be back. It's great to find a few vegetarian options available.
