Though I give this place a perfect rating, Coppii Lumii at this location suffers similar shortcoming as their other shops: managing their waitlist and being able to accommodate for their customers who are waiting for a table. This location is a bit better because they don’t force you to use their QR code directing to their wait list site that tracks your location.
Asides from having to wait and deal with some inconvenience trying to get on their waitlist, this cafe (and all their other shops) is absolutely worth checking out. The dishes are delicious with a variety selection of breakfast, lunch and sweets. Their coffee is also good. But I think the best part of this particular location is the space and decor. You don’t feel like you’re stuffed inside a shoebox like most other restaurants and cafes in Taipei.
Things you must try: the cinnamon roll and their breakfast dishes.
Pros: spacious, clean and retro decor, plenty of natural light, delicious food and drinks, coffee, cinnamon roll, great place to do work remotely( bring a noise isolation capabele headphones), centrally located in Taipei, close to an MRT station.
Cons: their service when it gets really busy (hopefully the management will improve over time), can be loud when it’s packed, the lack of sound diffuser/panel makes the noise reverb at this...
Read moreA nice and cozy cafe/restaurant with a somewhat strange ordering process. You are escorted to your seat and given the menu and a QR code. To order, you scan the QR code with your phone and enter the order on a website, like in an online shop. Then you have to go to the cash register and pay. The order is then brought to your table, but you have to get cutlery, etc. yourself. When you're finished, you clear the table yourself, like in a self-service restaurant. No problem at all, for me it was just a strange mix of waiter service and self-service. The menu is partly in English, so you can order without any problems if you don't speak Chinese.
We were there in the afternoon and had coffee and something sweet. The prices were rather high, but still acceptable and comparable to similar places. It seems that brunch is particularly popular here. There are different variations of it. What bothered me and didn't fit the atmosphere was that the drinks were served in disposable cups.
In my opinion, four stars, mainly because of the atmosphere and because the place is somehow special. Maybe we'll try brunch...

I’ve been to other Coppi Lumii location before. The service here is really horrible.
The cashier with the short hair, had bad attitude when we order. Because I’m pregnant I asked if the steak can be cooked all the way, she looked confused, so I said if it’s easier for the chef, they can cut the steak open to see if it’s cooked all the way. She looked at me oddly, and said “we’ll just cook it all the way.” Like she really didn’t care how my food was prepared.
Our food was served by a tall bigger girl. She slammed our cooked veggies bowl down loudly with attitude, then she grabbed our number holder and slammed it down on the table loudly again, no apologies, later brought our salad, again slamming it down, with no smile or eye contact.
After the salad, we waited 20-25 min for our steak. We had to go up and ask status, then they tell us the steak was forgotten. At this time we were 45 min into our meal time and the steak was going to be another 15 min.
The place is known for delicious food and drinks. But should really work on your service to keep customers...
