Must-try dumplings in Taipei!! 🥟🥟🥟 Absolutely amazing. You might be hesitant when you see the crowds of waiting people outside, but I assure you that even with multiple couples ahead of us in line, we only waited 5 minutes and were served our steaming hot platters of dumplings within minutes of sitting down due to their efficiency and pre-order system. You can self serve some of their classic side dishes too - we loved their crunchy garlic cucumbers and sliced pig ear, and the century egg tofu was yummy but the sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste. But the DUMPLINGS THOUGH- get some of each!! I especially loved their scallop dumplings, which had a perfect balance of savory and a light sweetness. The skins are thick and have a good chew, and each flavor was delicious in its own right. Also grab a cold grass jelly drink - it'll wash everything down perfectly! No soup was tried today but they both look good ~ p.s you can buy frozen dumplings to take home, and minimum order for each dumpling...
Read moreRead lots of amazing reviews about the scallop dumplings but it did not exceed my expectations. They were all right and far from exceptional. I always enjoy dumplings without any sauces but id say the sauces elevate the delicate flavour and thus needed for this dumpling. I mixed the garlic and soy sauce around 1:1 as the dip and it worked well with this dumpling
The signature dumpling - pork and cabbage one was excellent. I am not a fan of such flavour but the balance of the filling, the wrapper and the broth within the dumpling was spot on. I enjoyed it a lot.
The chives dumpling was really good too. The nice pungent flavour of the chives was memorable.
The sour and spicy soup - I didn't like it very much.
The mixed balls soup was lovely.
The grass jelly drink was pleasant but again nothing special and it was quite mild.
I will visit if I'm around the area but certainly won't travel for it like I...

At $6 a piece, the dumplings tasted quite good, fresh ingredients, reasonably good wrapper, not too thick or too thin (the outer part did taste kind of thick when cold). However, for someone who grew up eating dumplings, the stuffing was just okay, not particularly juicy or flavorful. The wrapper lacked moisture and chewy texture of a good dumpling wrapper. The service was fast, too fast, dumplings were not hot, meaning they were done for a while. Understand that they tried to turn the tables as fast as they could since there were very limited seatings, felt pressured to finish quickly. Good place if you are looking for a quick meal (not counting the waiting time), not good if you want a...
