Visited during the Chinese New Year season and they were only serving a fixed 8-course menu. Everything was so yum! And that Mushroom Steak? The best I’ve ever had!! A MUST have here. All the other courses were good too - especially the soups!

This is definitely one of the better vegetarian restaurants in Taipei.

However, this particular visit was abit affected by how our experience was extremely rushed by the staff. We arrived 10 minutes before our booking time (7.15pm) and the first person who greeted us was telling us how we have to proceed to our table fast and complete our meal by 9pm. My mum was originally admiring the stones display but was then hurriedly ushered to our table instead. Then, each course was served very quickly, sometimes the next one being served before the last person was done with the previous. More interestingly was how they came over to give us the bill before we finished our last course (that was at about 8.30pm only). Everyone was very polite in their interactions, but you could obviously tell they are trying to get things done fast - abit of a get-it-over-and-done-with feel. Not something I’d expect from a...

Today, we went out to eat and were having a great time at first. Later, the staff served a dish, and we didn’t think much of it and just continued eating.

Then a floor supervisor came over and said, “Sorry, we served the wrong tofu dish. Do you want to keep it or return it?” Since we had already eaten half of it, we thought, “It’s fine, we’ll just keep it.”

But when it came time to pay, they actually charged us for their mistake. Completely ridiculous! I brought it up to the supervisor, and she replied, “I asked you earlier if you wanted to keep it or return it.”

Seriously? You served the wrong dish, and now I have to pay for it? How is this not basically a scam?

I’ve been in the F&B industry for ten years, and if a restaurant serves the wrong dish, it’s the restaurant’s responsibility to own up to it. How can they have the nerve to charge the customer for their mistake?

On top of that, the supervisor’s attitude was unbelievable. She said she’d process a refund but grabbed my credit card so roughly, like she was in a bad mood the whole time. If you don’t want to work, then don’t. And as for the restaurant — absolutely...

This is one of the best vegetarian restaurants I’ve ever tried in Taipei. I took my mother here for celebrating her birthday, and I am actually not that fond of vegetarian food. But the experience tonight broke my imagination to the so called vegetarian cuisines. Each of the cuisine is well presented in Kaiseki style, we can also feel the season in it. The flavor of the food is amazing. I must say they work hard on it that I think the vegetarian food here outweighs many of the meat food in the general restaurants. The portion is fine.

For the service, the staff is friendly and helpful. However, the service speed is too fast and I think for a high-end dining experience, the pace of serving food is critical. It is not ideal when you haven’t finished one cuisine but the next one is served and put aside.

Overall, it is a place...

Disappointed. (1) It’s fusion - part Western, part Chinese, part Japanese. May be its because of a special Mother’s Day set menu, but I am confused at what food I am eating. (2) For this type of restaurant, a critical part are the creativity and taste (surprise factor is crucial for vegetarian), both of which fail terribly short of past superb reputation. (3) Ambience is all wrong - nice deco, but it is supposedly 懷石料理 Kaiseki cuisine, hence tranquility is essential for the right state of mind to enjoy and appreciate each dish. However, it is very noisy, both from other customers as well as the staff (managing the dishes and tableware, throwing into a bucket). (4) I feel like it is a race against time. The staff are nice, but everyone seems to focus on rushing the dishes one after the other, with no gap in between.
