In a rapidly developing city with plenty of modern options, Chef's Pride keeps their menu traditionally and proudly East African. The meats are freshly sourced from a local butcher; the lamb I had was sourced that same morning. I had the lamb biryani, and was impressed by the succulence and tenderness of the meat. Be aware that at least in the afternoon, this place was packed with diners, so you may have to wait for a table to open. But the food is most definitely worth the wait. This is an restaurant where locals dine, so you know this is a truly Dar es Salaam establishment.

Chef's Pride is the Place to taste swahili food and specialities of the west of the Indian ocean. Maandazi, kuskuma (chapati), pilau, biriyani, various michuzi (curries and stews of goat, beef, mutton, seafood...), ugali, bananas .. Here you experience how the swahili dish should feel and taste. Be prepared to share your table if you're alone or two. At lunch this is the family dinings room of the office workers and professionals of the neighborhood. In the evening you may enjoy your table for long time sipping a fresh juice. The place may be rated Genuine Good.

The most worst experience ever had since I am in dar es Salam .the waiter acts like in the jungle .speaking own language with my friend sat next to me instead of speaking English . No good service is like he does you a favour .I pay and first he charges the money by my card without giving me the receipt of what I have got ?then after I pay I got two receipt of the total without seeing what I got ?attaching the photos .where is the owner ? Where is the manager ?you cannot see what kind of people are on your own restaurant?also the was no falafel, hummus on the menu ..is that possibile or the lazy waiter doesn’t care at all .when there is no food in the menu customers should be advised before they sit .

Loved this cozy place though it was very stuffy upstairs. They have special rooms with a.c for hosting parties or meetings etc. Food was tasty enjoyed their biryani and kuku chips. Pizza was ok. It is well located in the center of the town. Recently had breakfast here. Food was tasty but service not hospitable. They forgot our baked beans and did not even try to compensate. Kindly check your order. Best part was you could order K.T shop tea and they will bring it to you here. Thank you for your service.

It was very crowded when we visited (on a Monday around 2pm) therefore we had to wait for our orders for half an hour. On the menu they have mainly Indian food and we ordered skewed barbecue chicken. It was at a reasonable price and somehow okay quite spicy-hot though. The stuff wasn't necessarily friendly though... After all it is a convenient option in the city center.
