Crafty Dee’s Brewpub and Beer Garden — Restaurant in Dar es-Salaam

Such a special treat to have a place like this in Dar. I little bit out of town but well worth it to try some very well crafted standards. I was particularly impressed with the pilsner, which has a fantastic deep character from proper ingredients. The IPAs and blonde golden are also very good. I rarely drink wheat beers but I enjoy theirs.

Service is friendly and happy, nice change in Dar 😉

I’m going to come in as an American who drinks IPAs like it’s my job so please excuse the love fest. From a person who is HIGHLY critical of IPAs which can become very dime-a-dozen, this place DELIVERS. And that’s not even getting into their pilsners and lagers which are EXCEPTIONAL. Plus - they have a ridiculous solid menu, all close to Indian Ocean views, Zanzibar ferry - and all the local food spots, should you want to change it up, also carry THEIR beers. So stop by for a few, raise a glass or four, and enjoy the incredible ambiance! This place is 12/10! Best kind in East...

So excited to hear about this place from a friend who works at an NGO around the corner. I was not disappointed when I finally got there - cold beer, good selection of beer (more than the local norms) and good "bar food" food list that wasn't priced out of this world. Some of the beers are better than others (i'd not order the cider again frankly), but what a great place to watch a match, tilt a few pints and eat good bar food.
