The Ridge Cafe — Restaurant in Dar es-Salaam

Disclaimer : - I am not a coffee expert. I just am a regular coffee drinker with a little knowledge about coffee. I have not eaten any food here so cannot comment on that but I ordered a cold brew from duka direct. The cold brew was absolutely horrible. I think they used some kind of ready cold brew concentrate or pasted to make it, ( for context I have drunk hundreds if not thousands of cold brews in different cafes across many countries and also I brew my own cold brews on a regular basis). This cold brew does not taste like a cold brew for sure. I don't know what flavour this is but I think it falls under the chemical or paper/musty category in flavour wheel. It is bad. It is a little creamy/thick for a cold brew. Although I have not tasted any cold brew with a ready syrup or paste but I definitely know it is not a regular cold brew. OK That's all from me, horrible cold brew, I don't know about other coffees or the beans that they use but i personally did not like the taste maybe I am just used to other tastes. A wonderful experience at The Ridge Cafe Masaki, Loving the lighting with the wooden finish that gives a peaceful, relaxing environment.

Their art work has no flaws with the classis cafe decor making it a unique place to be at.

And the coffee has just the BEST taste in clearly the whole of Dar Es Salaam. And this is from a coffee craving maniac.

They also have coffee beens which are in different flavors depending on your taste and which is also fresh & organic.

Just a tip for customers, do tell them how hot you want your coffee. Because for them coffee isn't the heat, it's the taste within.

Visited this cafe on a friend's recommendation, he was especially fond of the chicken sandwich but didn't seem too excited about the coffee.

The cafe is in a convenient location and is always quite a busy place. It's well set-up for those who need to work away from the office with power outlets conveniently located near the tables.

The chicken sandwich, banana bread and fruit juice were quite tasty. However, I wasn't entirely happy with the coffee (Africano/Americano).

What I really liked was that the cafe had PLENTY of books and if it was nearer to my place of stay, I would have spent more time here!
