Avoid this place at all costs – scam and terrible food!

I had an absolutely awful experience at this restaurant. I ordered Chicken Makange and Ugali, and the food was simply inedible. and both the ugali and chicken were so tough that I could barely chew them.

But the worst part? The blatant scam. When it was time to pay, the waitress told me the price was 23,000 TZS. I was shocked and asked for a menu. She claimed there was no menu and then suddenly changed the price to 18,000 TZS.

Then, the manager got involved, brought out yet another menu, and after some whispered discussion between the two of them, they finally charged me 14,000 TZS.

This place is clearly running a scam on tourists by using hidden menus and fake...

We went there today, as it's one of the only local places nearby. We ordred and after 20 mins asked the waitress where our drinks were. We were told to go up to the counter ourselves and ask (as she sat on a stool, not serving anyone). Then all 3 of us received incorrect drinks...We had to enquire about our food after 45mins of watching people who had arrived after us receive their meal. We asked for it to be take away as we were now late for an appointment. We were one of about 4 groups who were not happy and also asking to take away. Don't eat here if you don't have a good 2 hours to spare. Slow and grumpy staff. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is for one of the waitresses who tried to help...

Jackie's is my go-to place for authentic Local dishes cravings. Everyday between 12pm to 3pm there is a buffet consisting of huge variety of local dishes. You can choose anything and add to your plate and billed anything between 9,000 to 15,000. Sometimes it gets really busy during peak hours, best try to come early.
