Also known as Oysterbay a place to enjoy the beach and food as well. 🥥 Oyster Bay is popular for the food sold there, such as Muhogo (cassava), Mishkaki (Grilled meat skewers) and Madafu (Coconut water) sold by traders. Some new restaurants have also been constructed including M Burger. 📍You can enjoy the Indian Ocean breeze only if you don't want to eat. It has a clean beach children can also enjoy free swimming. 💲The food like muhogo kitale and cassava crisps is very cheap. But mishkaki is expensive 300 to 400tsh per stick. Great place to chill relax and gateaway for the weekends.

Great atmosphere and great food! The beach is significantly cooler than the rest of Dar and is a great place to spend a day. If you are a tourist ordering food, ask the price up front and pay up front, otherwise the price could change on you after you have eaten (This seems to be a common practice). Otherwise, bring swim gear, order a beverage and prepare for the most relaxing an inviting part of your stay.

Very nice location right on the water, friendly, interested people, the simple fast food is ok, prices must definitely be inquired in advance, otherwise, as a tourist, you will be surprised with three, four or five times the price...

What I liked;

The welcome was amazing. You have multiple people welcoming you in and ushering you to your sit. They straight away ask what you need and take your order. There is a free and secure parking lot to accommodate many cars. The view is amazing with the breeze from the ocean. There is also enough sitting area. There is a variety of cooking stations you can choose to eat from.

What needs improvement;

Too many restaurants to choose from, maybe each could have a banner with identification to know which is which. They don't have mobile payment available, although with some you can send it to their mobile. They give paper plates or very light plates, considering the wind from the ocean, the moment you finish your food the plate flies over to you, dirtying...

Go to beach front for amazing mishkaki and other delicious fresh local snacks made right before your eyes. I've noticed a drastic change in the environment, whereby they have built alot more huts that make the place look very crowed and rather unpleasant. you can no longer see the ocean as clearly as before. the shore too is unfortunately polluted with one use plastic.

otherwise with a good group of pals its a fun...
