CORGI IN THE GARDEN — Restaurant in Bang Wa Subdistrict

Got to know of this place through bangkok foodie on Facebook. Headed down on a quiet sat morning and even made the effort to wake up early as I was worried that there will be massive crowd and me and my partner might need to wait in queue. In the end I was about 1.5 early as they are opened from 11am onwarda. I was pretty lucky as there wasn't any queue at all and we were the first to arrive.

Have to sincerely thank 'bank' for his exceptional friendly customer service as he explained to us in a friendly manner than the cafe will only be open from 11am onwards. He was very courteous and nice and even offered us to come inside the cafe waiting area while waiting for the cafe to officially open at 11am. He also served us cold ice tea which I really appreciate it as it was very very hot outside.

The experience in this corgi cafe is one that I will never forget. The staff even took time and slowly explained to us about the family tree of their corgis. Dean and quinn were the first dogs that the owner had following which they brought in cheesecake as dean 2nd wife. It was so interesting to know about the corgi story through the staff explanation.

The corgis are all friendly and roaming around the place, you will not have an issue to take photos with them as they are all very friendly and nice. Don't worry if you can't get the dogs to stay still as the staff will constantly assist to help position the corgis to take nice photos for you.

The staff here takes good care of the corgi and they treat their corgis as their family. You can see from how the staff interact with the corgis that they had already treated them as part of their family. I can really tell that they love the corgis so much and the corgis love them too. It was unlike any other dog cafes that I have been too before, the staff here really genuinely care about the corgis.

I have to give this pace a 5/5 superb experience due to the exceptional customer service as well as knowing that the corgis are in good hands of the owner and the staff. Good work guys, please keep doing what you are doing and I will be back to see them again soon. Perhaps when I'm back the 2nd time, Dean might already have a third partner... 😉

It's also worth knowing that they have four 1,5 hour sessions daily which we did not know about but were lucky enough to arrive just in time - 10:30-12:00, 12:30-14:00, 14:30-16:00 and 16:30-18:00. You can't see the place from the big road. Watch out for a small turn to the left from the big road, take that and follow the GPS. The cafe looks small from the outside and sits on a dead-end road.

On Sundays, there are 4 slots of hourly sessions in which 50 people can fill in at once. But they start on schedule, without waiting for the tickets to sell out, so it's not that bad. They have around 30 mins rest in between sessions to clean up the space and let the corgis have a breather.

While waiting, you're expected to take off your shoes outside the cafe area (so wear something that's easy to take off and not a Balenciaga) and put on their 1-time use plastic slippers. Then wash your hands with an antiseptic soap in their outdoor sink.

If you see benches, beware, those might actually be tables! There are really short tables where you can sit on floor pillows that they store in the table gaps.

It might seem spacious for a cafe, but once the dogs are in, you notice it's not ideal for dogs. Most walls are made of glass and concrete so the voices bounce around. Add drink smells, food smells and human odor/perfume smells, you can imagine how overwhelming it can be for a dog.

This comes naturally, but extroverted and brave dogs end up getting more treats than introverted dogs. I dont know how they control their food portion to keep them interested in the treats (which is boiled chicken), but they sure seem hungry in the morning (first session).

All in all, I think dog cafes are not for me. But if it is your thing, this place does its best in managing them. Just be mindful that these dogs ARE working, their tricks and attention are the results of training. They are professio als. Not even kidding. Seeing pictures and watching them irl is very different.
