Soup: The Mala soup here is absolutely perfect. It hits the right level of spiciness that true Mala enthusiasts crave. Unlike some other places where the spice level is toned down, Shoo Long Kan delivers an authentic kick that keeps you coming back for more.

Read moreI recently dined at a mala hot pot restaurant that, while on the pricier side, offers a worthwhile experience. No waiting queue. They seemed to arrange the group of customers separately like the Thais and small groups outside.very good for people who loves quietly. The flavors truly reflect the authenticity of Chinese cuisine, with generous portion sizes and attentive staff. However, the variety of meats was somewhat limited.
One downside was the freshness of the fruits at the dipping sauce bar; they were a bit mushy and bland. The golden soup made with pickled greens was robust and flavorful, while the tomato soup was quite lackluster. The collagen soup had a strong fishy odor, which might not be for everyone. The mala soup was packed with ingredients, but it felt a bit oily.
Overall, it’s a great place for mala lovers, but a few areas could use...

A large, beautifully decorated restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. The broth options are diverse but come at an extra cost. The mala broth allows you to choose your spice level, though even the mildest option is still quite spicy. The sauce and side dish bar is somewhat limited. The fresh vegetables, pork, beef, and offal are of good quality, and the minced shrimp is delicious, but the rose-shaped fish ball is a complete miss.
The staff provide good service, prepare dipping sauces, and give helpful recommendations. However, they talk loudly, joke around, and shout across the restaurant without considering the customers. This might be because most patrons are foreigners, so they assume it’s okay. While the service itself is good, for a high-end restaurant, the staff should be more professional and maintain proper etiquette. It shouldn’t feel like dining in a marketplace when you’re paying...
