Pricey Fusion Vietnamese food. I’ve been to Vietnam and tried several local foods. If you expect the taste of authentic Vietnamese foods, don’t come here.

I tried the Banh Mi Xa Xui and wasn’t impressed. The bun was okay but it doesn’t taste like the original fluffy baguette. The filling was okay but it’s too sweet. The service was great though as I asked for an extra plate to share the food, the waiter offered to separate the bun into two pieces.

What the Pho comes in a large size and is good for sharing but again it’s kinda fusion. The onsen egg was a bit too cooked. The taste doesn’t deserve the price of 399 baht.

The last thing we ordered was Banh Loc. i like the taste of it just that the sauce is a bit too sweet. The sauce is interesting on how they mix the sour taste in. I guess it’s because they put some lime or Kimquat in the sauce and they need to make it sweeter to blend the sour taste.

The setup of the chair is tended to give you the experience of authentic Vietnamese street food. However, the older generations would definitely have a problem sitting in.

It’s a really nice Vietnamese Bistro located in SongWat, with good food, but, there’s something that they need to improve.

1. Ordered the Saigon Bahn Mi, the baguette is really nice, but the paté is really sweet, when eaten with the pork floss which is also, extremely sweet, that should be distributed equally in the sandwich, turns out they put a massive load of pork floss, without distributing making it extremely sweet, like eating a desert.
2. I don’t recommend putting the stems of coriander/spring onions because it overpowers the whole dish.
3. I also ordered the Pho beef + braised, which the sliced beef was cooked to perfection, but in the other hand, braised beef was so hard to chew, and NOT TENDER, which is very disappointing that I ordered “braised” expecting it to be nice and tender, but it’s very hard to chew. Anyways, I really love this Vietnamese bistro, it’s lovely, good atmosphere and vibes, and the phenomenal pho broth that enhanced the entire Pho dish! As a proud Vietnamese, I can confidently say that Song Viet at Song Wat is top-notch! The moment you step inside, you're transported straight to Vietnam with its authentic décor and vibrant atmosphere. The music and vibes truly capture the essence of our beautiful country.

When it comes to the food, the flavors are incredibly authentic. You absolutely MUST order the bánh bèo and bánh mì. The bánh mì is made with a freshly baked baguette, crafted daily by one of the founders. It’s simply divine!

And let's talk about dessert! Living in Italy for the past seven years, I’ve experienced some of the best ice cream out there, but I must say, the ice cream at Song Viet is very comparable to Italian gelato in terms of richness. Be sure to try the salted caramel and Vietnamese coffee flavors—they're out of this world!
