Charoen Chai Community Museum — Attraction in Pom Prap Subdistrict

Basic one room museum with a few old newspaper articles some in Thai, some in English. Some artefacts and photos but not much accompanying explanations. There’s a useful map on the ground floor for you to use to explore the neighbourhood and there’s a fantastic noodle stall (Liu di) right...

It’s a small private-run museum founded in 2011. The aim is to preserve the community’s heritage and to exhibit its history. The shophouse was a house of a Chinese opera performers so the museum displays Chinese opera costume and its dressing room. There are old items and pictures donated by locals. You can also find a map for a walking tour or for finding good food around the area. Admission is free. Donation is accepted.
