Cerimoniale: A Hidden Matcha Gem Wrapped in Ritual and Charm
It wasn’t supposed to happen that day—we were simply wandering down Songwat Road, snapping photos of graffiti, when fate brewed us a surprise. Tucked behind a mysterious tarpaulin, marked only with the emblem “Cerimoniale,” we stumbled upon a matcha haven that had quietly been sitting on my bucket list.
The entrance is almost cinematic—part secret, part ceremony. Behind the tarp lies a polished, vintage wooden staircase that whispers stories of old Bangkok charm.
Ascend, and you’re welcomed by a woman who seems to speak fluent passion. Her words dance as she introduces the different kinds of matcha, her eyes lighting up like someone sharing a well-guarded family recipe. Her smile? It’s the kind that makes you want to stay a little longer.
Then comes the ritual. She doesn’t just serve you matcha—she invites you into its world. With grace, she demonstrates the whisking process, the bamboo chasen moving like a paintbrush on water. And yes, she’ll even let you try it—hands-on tea magic.
Their Cerimoniale-grade matcha blended with yogurt is divine—a harmonious mix of earthy, creamy, and tangy that lingers like a good memory. The space itself is small, almost pocket-sized, but therein lies its charm. It feels less like a café and more like a sacred stop on your journey, a brief but beautiful pause.
Cerimoniale isn’t just a matcha spot—it’s a moment, a mood, a matcha meditation hidden in plain sight.

Read moreWas expecting much more from a matcha specialty shop since I’ve seen their shop for a while… But sadly, it fell short😭… The presentation and interior of the place was nice and chic albeit a bit hot in this weather. Now, on to the matcha… I ordered mizuwara, their matcha with water… There was only one type of matcha (seasonal ceremonial matcha) which was such a cool gimmic. BUT it wasn’t what I expected to be very honest. It was rather bland and I expected much more from a 190baht cup of tea (I’ve never complained about the price of matcha before but this was sadly not worth the price). I’ve bought ceremonial grade matcha multiple times so I think the price is a bit over the top w/ the way the matcha is bland (I didn’t see the amount they used, so I won’t assume they used a small amount). We also ordered their milk matcha, they told us to drink from the cup (w/o the lid or a straw) and that it was served in layers… The top part which was supposed to be the most rich, was bland… So, towards the end, it was just milk with a green color. So, we didn’t get the point of this much as matcha specialty cafes we’ve been to in both Japan and Thailand always tell us to mix the matcha. I’d get it if the start was RICH and ended with a lighter matcha taste. This was 220baht😭. I’m so sad I didn’t like it cause I liked their concept so, so much and went in with really, really high...
Read moreNot worth the hype and very disappointed. They have one type of matcha only and mix with either tonic, latte, some cider and some type of yogurt.
I ordered one latte and one matcha with tonic. The tonic one taste very cheap and destroy the quality of matcha it should have presented in the glass. The latte one taste okay but I’m very concerned if the hygiene is there. The staff asked me to zip from the glass to check if I want more syrup. I zipped and asked for one spoon of syrup. The staff then pour the syrup in and used the same spoon to mix the syrup with the drink and put it back in the container☠️ . If the shop use disposable spoon, better put the spoon on the counter, rather than put it behind. I don’t know if the staff will use the same spoon for the next customer as I don’t see she threw it away. I suggest the shop provide disposable spoon on top of the counter and let the staff just pick up from there so we know that you won’t reuse it.
2 glasses for 400 ish THB. Pretty pricey compared to other matcha shops which provide better notes of matcha and after taste. I have tried many matcha cafes in Bangkok and have matcha station at home. So I have some spectacular matcha experiences with other places and here I have none.
The seatings are limited and...
