This was by far the worst experience of my life with a hotel. We were here for 5 days
Cons: We booked for 3 people of which one was a 13 year old but when we checked in they denied this and forced us to pay $40 extra per night We were escorted to our room by a young gentlemen who walked right into our room (we are three young females) without permission and proceeded to tell us if we needed anything to ask him- we asked him to leave The room was dirty and it just stayed dirty the entire duration of our visit They turn the hot water down so low you can’t actually have a warm shower the complimentary toiletries provided are so cheap including the toothbrush that literally falls apart when you use it you shouldn’t even bother with them The staff are WEIRD, they don’t greet you, they stare at you and they always seem to be suspicious of you Front desk women are not good at there jobs, they resort to guilting you by acting emotional and claiming they will lose their jobs The food was so bad I got sick from eating at the hotel The good at the breakfast is old food from the restaurant. They actually served pad Thai one morning that was clearly so old it smelled The location is terrible as you hear loud cars all night no matter what floor you are on The night market is not what you think it is there is very little to buy or see The “mall” they claim they have is just a bunch of vendors selling super low end clothing that in North America you’d find in the equivalent of a dollar store
Pro: The Starbucks on the main level is wonderful and the only good thing about this hotel
Do not recommend this place at all. This hotel needs major renovations to all its room and should be more...
Read morePositives Check in was relatively quick, though annoyingly they insisted on a 1,000B cash deposit which is something many hotels do in Thailand and should be banned. The room was spacious and had great views over a large swathe of Bangkok.
The beds and pillows were super comfortable (9.0 for the beds!). There was a comfy sofa and a large TV with lots of internet options. There was a large walk-in cupboard for storage and it contained a safe. The shower had good pressure and the water temperature was easily controlled. There was hot water in the sink which is fairly unusual in Thai hotels making shaving easy. The room was very quiet with very little outdoor or hotel noise penetrating the room.
The hotel facilities were good. We loved the revolving restaurant on the 25th floor despite the high prices and the lobby bar was a great place to meet friends over a beer or sing karaoke if that’s your thing! The hotel is well located at the northern end of Chinatown a short walk from the main action and about an 8 minute walk to the MRT Metro train.
negatives There was not enough room furniture- no vanity table with mirror for my wife, no desk and no bedside table by the main bed. There was also no ceiling lighting, which meant it was dingy after dark and hard to read a book. The electric power sockets were mostly in the wrong place for modern use. The bathroom was very small and anyone over about 1.8M would not be able to stand up in the shower. The prices in the hotel’s bars and restaurants...
Read moreHotel appears clean and tidy. Receptionist was helpful and fluent in english. I booked 3 different type of rooms because i travel with my family. The superior, junior, and family suite. All the beds do not have headboards, and some of the bed squeaks.Door closed with a loud bang and seems like soundproof is really minimal. Bathroom amenities are below standard, no tooth brush, no tooth paste, no shaver. I really dislike the hallway and room design. The room number plate direction should be placed in front of elevator hallway. The hallway also gave an old and a bit of eerie feeling. The closet door where the safety box is the creepiest. Alot of crack inside the room, i did not take picture of it because it would not be fair since they just had a big earthquake couple days ago. That situation is totally understandable. The lights inside the room came from standing lamp and table lamp. The lamp have to be switch off manually. And the standing lamp have no switch. The ambience is dark. Starbucks downstairs did not accept cash. i did not bother to try the sky view restaurant above because the food price list that they are posting inside the elevator wall does not even make sense. However, the hotel location is excellent, near the night market where all the good food exist but not too close that you hear all the noise from the street. Gen z bar is awesome. If you aiming to stay for strategic location, look no further. But if you looking for a comfortable luxury stay, you might not...
