TLDR: food is ok, service is poor, prices are higher than normal, there’s a service charge they don’t inform you of. And if they mess up your food, they still expect you to pay for it

I honestly didn’t want to rate the food poorly on this place, because both the dishes and flavors aren’t bad. The main reason for the poor food rating is due to the fact that they weren’t willing to accommodate a simply customization request. Previously before my friend and I came to dine here, I had come down with severe food poisoning from another restaurant, and was still recovering. This made my stomach very sensitive, so all we asked was that our appetizer dish not be spicy. When we received it, it was still very spicy, as they had literally mixed in the pepper’s seeds in the sauce. Even my friend, who enjoys spicy food, said it was too much. I had to send it back, and reiterated again multiple times to please not make it spicy at all. They came back a second time with the dish and it was just as bad as before. At this point, we didn’t even want it and just asked it to be taken off the check. They simply declared they would not do that and we would have to pay the entire amount + a service charge on the dish we didn’t even want. When the manager (or possibly owner) came out to talk to us, he only addressed my friend (even though it was my appetizer) and his reasoning was just that we should “understand his side”??? As apparently this was as “mild” as they could make it. And then offered no type of accommodation and gave a half assed apology. An apology we probably would’ve just accepted and moved on, had he not said it so condescendingly. We both work in restaurants ourselves, so his attitude and the poor service took us by surprise. We will definitely not be returning here. Other cons- Also this restaurant has a service charge that they don’t inform you of until you’re ready to pay, which is why pretty scammy in itself. The food in general, is simply average. You can genuinely get the entire menu elsewhere and with much higher quality. It’s not bad for the most part when they don’t mess up your order, but it’s nothing special. They don’t even have any unique dishes for their restaurant. The prices are above average for each dish. As I said before, there’s nothing unique about any of the menu items. They just happen to be located in a great spot, so they are a convenient tourist trap.

Edit: Just wanted to add that the dish in question was a papaya salad. I’ve ordered this at plenty of other restaurants with the same accommodation and it was never an issue. They just messed up my order and didn’t...

I feel like the food is 4* but this place deserves 5* for service and attention. After a long day of shopping the aircon is a godsend. The food is well presented in a traditional manner. The carved pumpkin for example looks beautiful. I miss the days of traditional Thai fruit and vegetable carving and its not often seen anymore. We didn't order much, mainly we wanted a place to sit that was cool and take refreshment, but what we had was good. The mango sticky rice was authentic and good quality. The tod man pla (Thai fishcakes) were very good too, very thick, juicy and meaty. A little less spicy than I'd like, but I think the restaurant caters more to tourists and Western tastes. Regardless, they were still good. The daengmo bun (watermelon iced smoothie) was excellent, and they had a good selection of Thai beers, as well as international drinks. The waiters and waitresses were very very friendly and efficient. 5* for service. They are also family friendly and were very attentive and playful with our daughter. We felt very welcomed and would visit again when visiting the weekend market. Many other diners sat near us also said they enjoyed their food. The prices are higher than the stalls outside, but the seating is more comfortable and cool. There was also a live music act which was pleasant and...

Tucked away in the busy Lanes of the Chatuchak market this is quite a great place to eat at. It took us some effort to locate it even with Google maps cause the market is really huge and can get confusing. The place is open only till evening so they don't serve dinner. It was bustling and filled with people. They have both an indoor and a outdoor seating. It's a Small restaurant and we choose to sit outdoors despite the heat coz the smell of food indoors was overpowering ( that's why the 4). Their menu was quite varied with 90% being Thai dishes. We ordered a fried rice, a Thai green curry both veg and non veg and a cooler. The food was tasty and we'll presented andwe were pleasantly surprised to see our national flag on each of the dishes. That was an extra special touch for us. The staff speak very little English and we had a hard time getting extra pepper and finally gave up.. but overall it was good and a must visit if you are...

This is our definite go to place whenever we go shopping at Chatuchak! (beside coconut ice cream of course!) It’s a good place to get out of the heat and have some good reasonably priced Thai food. The restaurant is not very big or spacious so be prepared to squeeze a little, especially if you want to sit on the inside. Must haves : - Shrimp Cakes - Cotton Fish (deep fried, flaked cat fish served with a mango salad) - Green Curry - Omelette Location wise, it’s hard to describe where it is, there’s not big signage that point to it, but you’ll know once you’re there! The entrance is located along the main pathway of the market, not within a soi, and it’s near the rest of the food stall areas. 4-star cos it’s not the comfiest of places, but when in Chatuchak, it’s pretty decent and a place with good food and decent for a pit stop!
