Papa Curry — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

We had a bad experience :( Regardless the curry itself was okay. I just would prefer to have Japanese curry with Japanese rice (they serve with Thai rice).

Service was bad. We went there 3 people for lunch and wait such a long time get a seat for 2... We even chose to wait for another seat but they said no. So we had to eat first and our friend had to wait...

Food preparation was careless. I ordered their special beef curry of the day and they serve it without the pickle that I can see others people's has. So I asked for the pickle and they said because some customers didn't eat so they don't serve. It's ridiculous that they could ask before serve but they didn't. Or... they just made an excuse instead of saying 'please wait a moment'

We finished our food but our left alone friend still waiting for the ordered that took almost 30 minutes to found out that the waitress mistaken the order from 'Fried Egg Curry' to 'Fried Chicken Curry'

I don't think I will go back to this shop again. They might be proud of their recipe and their small shop that always has people waiting. But believe me there are plenty delicious food in Chiangmai for you to try with a decent service and professional operating.

Don't worry, eat curry. They said. But after I ate their curry I felt worry.

The best Japanese curry in town! I absolutely love their food here. However the service is weird. All the staff are super nice but the restaurant have so many weird restrictions. For example, they don’t give fork, I asked them why they said it’s because it’s not how you suppose to eat curry… well…

Another is, I couldn’t finish my dish and they don’t have take out box. Saying that it’s not good when taken away.(we ended up having to stuff finish everything because it’s pricey too on top of that) They also ask how much amount of rice you want. (It’s $10 meal you shouldn’t care how much I eat, should be provided as standard) Lastly, you can’t choose where you sit. I understand it’s a small bar but even though it’s not packed and there is no line, we are forced to sit next to other people… I mean it’s a nice place, but so many restrictions that it takes away the experience eating here. With all this said, I always come back for the curry here but not sure after today… shout out to the amazing staff that have to keep up with customer...

ก่อนอื่นเราขอเริ่มที่รสชาติแกงกะหรี่ก่อน เราไม่ได้เป็นแฟนตัวยงของแกงกะหรี่ ส่วนตัวจะเลี่ยนง่าย แต่ต้องยอมรับว่า แกงกะหรี่ของ Papa Curry ไม่เลี่ยน อร่อยกลมกล่อม จ่วงเอาจ่วงเอา จนบางคนถึงกับใช้คำว่า “อร่อยแสงออกปาก” ข้าวมี texture เหนียวๆ หน่อย อาจจะไม่ใช่ข้าวญี่ปุ่น 100% ก็เป็นสไตล์ของร้านเนอะ เครื่องหน้าแกงฯ และท๊อปปิ้งต่างๆ ดูดี รสชาติเข้ากันได้ดีกับแกงกะหรี่ ในส่วนของราคาก็ต้องยอมรับว่าค่อนข้างสูงทีเดียว ราคาขั้นต่ำของ Topping คือ 95 บาท ร้านค่อนข้างเล็ก อยู่ในซอยลึกหน่อย ที่จอดรถน้อยเมื่อเทียบกับปริมาณลูกค้า (ร้านดังคนก็จะเยอะ) มีพี่ยามใจดี 1 คนค่อยให้บริการอยู่ ไม่ต้องกังวลไป พื้นที่อาหารบริการที่บาร์ประมาณ 10 ที่นั่งล้อมวงกัน และมีเก้าอี้นั่งรอรอบๆ บาร์ คือ อยู่ด้านหลังของบาร์ คนนั่งทานก็จะรู้สึกกดดันหน่อยๆ เมื่อมีคนรอเยอะ รีบกินรีบไป! กินเสร็จ มีของหวาน surprise ให้คร่า วันนี้เป็นขนมไทยร้านระรื่น ได้รับคนละกล่องเล็ก

ต่อไปเป็นสิ่งที่เราสังเกตห็นและเรียกกว่า “ความแปลก และเป็นสไตล์ร้าน” ล่ะกัน

ร้านค่อนข้างเข้มงวดเรื่องกฎของตัวเอง เน้นบริหารจัดการภายในของตัวเองให้ง่าย และทั่วถึงให้มากที่สุด แต่ด้วยลูกค้าที่มาก็หลากหลาย และมีหลายอย่างไม่เหมือนร้านอื่น ลูกค้าเลยไม่พอใจ และจะงงๆ บ้าง เพราะไม่คุ้นเคย เลยมีประเด็นดราม่าบ้าง ร้านให้สั่งคนละจาน ไม่ได้ถึงเป็นกฎแต่ด้วยข้อกำหนดที่ว่า 1 จานได้ช้อน 1 คัน ทำให้การแชร์หรือแบ่งกันกินกับเพื่อนอาจจะไม่สะดวกนัก 😂 กินคนละคำอย่างนี้หราาาาาา ?!?? จานและปริมาณข้าว มี 2 ขนาด แบ่งตามเพศ ผู้หญิงข้าว 100 กรัม จานเล็กกว่า ผู้ชายข้าว 200 กรัม จานใหญ่กว่า ถ้าเป็นผู้หญิงทานเยอะทำอย่างไร? ไม่รู้ค่ะถามร้านเอานะคะ ร้านมีบริการให้แต่ช้อน ไม่มีส้อม!!! เป็นร้านสไตล์ญี่ปุ่นมากๆ ค่ะ จบข่าว!!! ตอนกินจะหมดจาน หรืออยากหั่น ทำอย่างไร? ก็พยายามเอาค่ะ ส่วนการพาเด็กน้อยมาด้วยแล้วต้องใช้ส้อม ก็พกมากันเองนะคะ ร้านไม่มีบริการหลอด กินน้ำเย็นจากแก้วที่น้องพนักงานเทให้จบค่ะ ถ้ามีเด็กมาด้วย หรือเป็นคนติดหลอด ก็ปรับตัวเอานะคะ ประสบการณ์ที่เจอคือ (อาจจะ) เลือกเก้าอี้ไม่ได้ น้องพนักงานในบาร์ก็จะชื้ว่าให้นั่งตรงไหน เราขอนั่งเว้นไป 1 ที่ น้องเขาของให้นั่งตามที่บอกค่ะ น้ำเปล่า ขิงดอง ทิชชู อยู่ส่วนกลางในบาร์ จะเอาอะไร ร้องขอน้องพนักงานเอาค่ะ ทั้งร้านมีที่นั่งสำหรับรับประทานแค่ประมาณ 10 ที่นั่ง (รอบบาร์) การมาเป็นกลุ่มก็ต้องนั่งหน้ากระดานเอานะคะ

สรุป ความเห็นส่วนตัว ร้านเล็กแต่ฮิต และพยายามบริการให้เร็วและทั่วถึง ร้านจึงต้องจัดการทุกอย่างให้ดีเพื่อให้หมุนเวียนเก้าอี้ได้สูง และบริการคนได้ทั่วถึงที่สุดเท่าที่จะทำได้ เรื่องข้อสังเกตต่างๆ แล้วแต่จะตีความกัน มีความไม่คุ้นเคยหรือแตกต่างจากร้านอื่นอยู่หลายอย่าง เรามองกลางๆ ค่ะ...
