Baanrai Steakhouse — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

If you are looking for a Great steak in Thailand ( not so easy to find) this is The place !

If you are a Golfer ,stop in after a round or a bucket at the adjacent course and driving range .

I am here 6months of the year and had almost given up looking for a nice steak.

everywhere we tried was either disappointing and/or a crazy price ( beef steak is not so popular here ).

But this place Stands alone .

The quality is fantastic and the prices are Great .

A 12 oz Filet with a nice baked potato and veg for 300 B ! or a huge T bone Dinner for 380B ! ( better than any I have tried at 3x the price )

Nice Salmon and lots of other choices including traditional Thai dishes also ( my wife is Thai) .

Pee-Mi ,the owner is a very hard working sweetheart and deserves success .

A long-standing steakhouse in Chiang Mai. This branch is located inside a golf course — usually quiet and not too crowded, unless you run into a tour group (especially from China, which I’ve encountered a few times recently). It can get noisy and disrupt the peaceful vibe.

My go-to order is the peppered tenderloin steak, cooked medium rare — always excellent. The tenderloin salad is also great, and for sides, I recommend the garlic bread. For non-beef eaters, they also offer pork, fish, and possibly chicken steaks, though I haven’t tried the...

The steaks here were really nice we had the chicken and pork steaks which were delicious as were the vegetables served with it. My wife had the pad Thai and I tried the crocodile steak. Though the crocodile steak flavor was nice I was not a overall fan of it because texture wise felt like I was eating pure fat but maybe that’s just how crocodile is and that was the first time I had tried it.
