Firstly, I must commend you on your creative approach to customer service. Your response to our feedback was certainly unique and quite revealing. It’s not often that we encounter a restaurant that prefers to shift the blame onto its patrons rather than addressing legitimate concerns.
Tasting Menu: We were indeed hoping for more variety, and it’s interesting that your staff chose to misinterpret our request. Our English proficiency is impeccable, having lived in English-speaking countries for over 20 years. The insinuation that we misunderstood your menu is not only incorrect but also quite offensive. The issue was that we were not informed in advance that your lunch and dinner rules differ. We suggest that your reading comprehension might need improvement, and hope you can offer more set menu options for dinner. Seating: The seating was described as your “best,” yet it was anything but. The constant vibrations and noise were reminiscent of a construction site, not a fine dining establishment. It’s fascinating that you consider such conditions suitable for your guests. Bathroom Facilities: One toilet for an entire restaurant, especially one serving alcohol, is a logistical marvel. Its proximity to the kitchen, regardless of your certifications, raises serious questions about your understanding of guest comfort and hygiene. The location next to the kitchen is also concerning, regardless of any certifications you might have. Service: While some of your staff were polite, the service fell far short of fine dining standards. We have experienced exceptional service at numerous fine dining restaurants globally, and your staff’s performance was significantly lacking, especially considering the prices you charge. It’s evident that your staff’s training does not align with the standards expected of a fine dining establishment. Information about the set menu should be clearly communicated without expecting customers to check your website. Additionally, it’s laughable to think that four people would share half a bottle of mineral water. In fact, your staff took our half bottle of water and placed it in a corner as soon as we entered the restaurant. I also want to highlight that we felt rushed when deciding on drinks, as your staff repeatedly pressured us. This indicates a need for better service awareness. Furthermore, throughout our meal, there were staff members constantly walking back and forth near our table, which was quite distracting. Food Quality: Some of dishes were indeed palatable, but overall, the food was unremarkable. The sweet dishes, in particular, were a disappointing end to an already subpar meal.
Your suggestion that our dissatisfaction was unjustified is quite amusing. We took photos to document our experience, a practice common among diners. The implication that this somehow invalidates our concerns is both unprofessional and absurd. I’m curious about the mindset that leads you to believe that after spending 20,000 THB on dinner, we would need to share half a bottle of water that you hid in the corner of the restaurant. I appreciate the attention given to that half bottle of water during our two-hour meal. It has never been so valued before.
Additionally, we felt a sense of discrimination during our meal. Despite noticing our dissatisfaction, your staff made no effort to address our concerns in real-time, choosing instead to engage in a confrontational manner online. If you do not wish to serve Asian customers, perhaps it would be best to refrain from accepting reservations from Asian patrons in the future.
We respect that dining preferences are personal, but our feedback was based on genuine disappointment with the overall experience. Your dismissive response only compounds that disappointment.
We hope you will take our feedback seriously and use it to improve the experience for future guests, rather than deflecting and dismissing...

Sure the atmosphere was quaint and cozy but that by no means justified the underwhelming, over priced food.
Having worked in fine dining for many years and eaten at some of the world's highest ranked restaurants our experience at Redbox left me wondering if Michelin has lost their touch.
The highly recommended chicken satay skewers(which arrived with no explanations) were not of a Michelin recommendation quality as they were no better than ones you could buy on the streets.
The foie and peach salad(unexplained) would've been fantastic had the foie been seasoned properly. This dish was the one I looked forward to the most and it fell short.
The mushroom soup(also no explanation) on the other hand was definitely a Michelin quality dish, however I thought the ice cream was unwarranted, grainy and didn't add to the dish in any way.
When the main course came we were sorrowly disappointed as both dishes, neither of which came with more than the explaination of 'lamb' or 'duck,' fell way short of any street food we've had here.
The duck and lamb were both cooked beautifully, with the duck having just the right amount of smoke, but once again both proteins were under seasoned. The duck is advertised on the menu as being a duck and lychee dish. It was a duck and eggplant dish as there was very little lychee on the plate. The lamb panang was incredibly underwhelming as you can get better one's just about anywhere in Chiang Mai.
At the end of the meal after having put the money for the bill in the bill fold we sat waiting for our server to come take it and bring us change. We sat quietly for 10 minutes chewing on ice while our server, seemingly intentionally, avoided coming to our table. Eventually we left on a very sour note and the other server rushed to open the door for us and thank us for coming. Naturally, once outside, out server went to our table and collected the money left behind, with a tip we did not plan on leaving.
If you have any high end dining experience I would steer clear of this place as the food on the street is of equal if not greater quality. If this is your first high end experience by all means enjoy...
Read moreBEWARE: TOURIST TRAP!!! If you are reading this post because you are not sure about having a great dining experience in Chiang Mai for 280euro/person level place, I hereby urge you to change your mind immediately. This will be horrible experience! It is definitely be the worst Michelin. It should not be Michelin at all. I come here because I trust lonely planet and Michelin but this turned out to be the worst thing I have ever done in Chiang Mai. The beef steak was clearly frozen, not fresh. The shrimp was not fresh and tastes Exactly the same as shrimp crackers that you can find in any grocery store. The second picture is made of a small piece of cheap dried pineapple that you can easily find at night market. The smoked ice cream looked like a good idea but they should not taste like candles. Wines are just regular supermarket level wine. The bread was cold and not freshly baked, seemed taken out from the fridge. The food seemed not carefully cooked. Lamb was salty, but OK. Anyway, this should cost less than 80 euro but I spent 280, ridiculous. PLEASE avoid this place. The reply from restaurant claims they have “high standard” which is totally lie. Again, this is not about flavor, it is about quality: the food is carelessly chosen and made. At the end we talked with the chef and expressed our comments on the dishes. It seems that he doesn't care about this with a creepy smile. Attached please find the bill. We were unexpectedly charged 300B for the water, so be aware. Anyway, if you choose to believe the good comments and think this bad review might be because our personal preference, just go and try it. If any of you find this is actually worth the money then send me a message I'll delete this comment. I am very disappointed not only for the quality of the mediocore dishes they served but also for the unprofessional service. If this Michelin is not fake, I am also disappointed of Michelin system, this is a shame. The feedback from restaurant is a lie: that day there is total 4 tables dining there including me. 3 Chinese and 1 French. The staffs and chef are the worst I have ever seen in Michelin level restaurants. The restaurant is an evil...
