Audy Restaurant — Restaurant in Choeng Thale

So we went and ate today at Audry's in Surin Beach, Phuket Thailand. I was wanting a cold beer and something Thai for lunch so I got online and was banging around and ran across this place that advertised free transportation to and from their location.. The price of taxis is outrageous here and I'm not going to kill myself on one of those scooters so I thought, what the heck, lets go... I have to say the meal started off great with a ice cold large Heineken and a cold mug..YUM!! Wife had a margarita and we started with some Morning Glory sautéed in Oyster sauce and fresh Garlic.. Came out great.. A few groups started to come in, sit down and things started to get interesting.. I've noticed for whatever reason a lot of Thai restaurants cook one meal at a time... If they have 3 tables come in and get 4 orders from the 3 tables for the same item they don't cook the 4 orders at once they cook them 4 different times.. So this is problematic when you have 3 big tables come in at once, which was the case .. immediately the kitchen is in the weeds.. So the table in front of us has some Russians and the Table to the right has some Sweeds.. They all order at once and we put in a order as well for some Sautéed Pork and Basil with Rice and a A Satay of Chicken app. Well, now the cook is jammed and things are coming out of the kitchen weird. First this table gets a plate then that table gets a plate and so on.. So finally we get our Chicken Satay app which was so dry I needed another beer to choke it down.. and the Russian Lady who's kids already got served and ate is mad and when our waiter comes out with our order she basically tells him its hers and takes it from him.. So we are dying laughing because the guy at the table still hasn't got his food and about half the Sweeds have started eating with the others looking on.. And thats when it happened... a little fat kid, who I imagine was being held prisoner in the pantry broke out and made a dash for one of the tables grabbing some food and running off with all the wait staff yelling at him in Thai..The Russian Lady would have probably fought him for the chicken leg.. Anyway they managed to wrangle the Prisoner kid back into the pantry and they finally brought this poor Russian guys spaghetti out.. So his kids have eaten, his wife actually ate our entree and is finished and this guy starts inhaling his food.. I mean fork and knife he is getting it on and his wife is yelling at him in Russian for eating so fast.. Its hilarious.. So we finally get the rest of our meal and the Sweeds get fed and we caught a free Tuk-Tuk ride back to the hotel.. I figure 1 Star for the cold beer glass. 1 Star for the Huge drink selection and 1 Star for the free ride to and from your hotel.. Internet connection didn't work but I'm sure we'll be back just because of the free ride.. and free...

Really nice, authentic Thai cuisine with a good choice of other styles for kids or grown ups who want something else. Staff are really friendly and can't do enough to make your meal a great experience, worth having a chat with. We had two starters to share, four mains, soft drinks and five cocktails (happy hour) for about £42 ( four of us) which is great value for the quality, cleanliness and nice atmosphere. The restaurant is covered but has open sides with great views of the surrounding forest and countryside. It rained but everyone stayed dry. Visited four times in a two week holiday, could have gone every night but we always like to try different places. When we finished we were put on a complimentary shuttle bus back to our hotel.
