Riverside Seafood — Restaurant in Choeng Thale

We first came here in 2016, and it was the highlight of Bangtao dining. And it still is!! (2024!) We came for 7 nights, and ate here for 6 of them, family day on Sundays 😫 The restaurant hasn't changed its decor in that time, it's pretty basic, but you don't go there for that. It's the delicious Thai food, and the very reasonable prices you pay. Dad, (Tony) is the principal waiter, and his daughter prepares all the authentic, tasty food out the back, and I believe the other daughter also waits on tables. It was actually the highlight of our day, coming to this family run business for dinner My favourite dish was the Thai chicken salad, but my partner tried alot of dishes. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this restaurant to anyone in either Bangtao Beach or Surin, as it's kind of halfway between the 2 places. You MUST try the spring rolls also!! We stayed in Surin, Phuket for over a month and after we found this great down-to-earth place, we had about 15 dinners here!

I believe I've tried about 70% of dishes on their menu and there was not a single dish I wouldn't recommend.

Thai food varies from restaurant to restaurant, but at Riverside you can rely on being pleasantly surprised every time you order something different.

Here is a brief list of what I personally enjoyed the most: Chicken Satay, spring rolls, Tom Yam with prawns, Coconut chicken soup, Thick red and thick green curry chicken, stir fried vegetables in red curry sauce, fried calamari with garlic, stir fried chicken with cashew nuts, even simple kale in oyster sauce was great. But they also have an amazing baked rice in pineapple - a very tasty and photogenic dish

My family and I were staying at the Novotel just up the road from here. It made a nice change eating here at this family run restaurant. Very friendly and welcoming. The food here was very tasty and authentic. Great value too. The Massaman Curry was very tasty. Another great dish was the Pineapple rice, baked inside a pineapple. They also have a great range of Western dishes. My daughter enjoyed her Macaroni and cheese with ham.
