If you're in the mood for authentic Thai cuisine that won't break the bank, look no further than Konim Thai Food. Despite its somewhat worn appearance, this local favourite is a hidden gem that delivers where it counts: on the plate. First and foremost, let's talk about the food. The Prawn Petai dish was an absolute delight. The prawns were succulent, flavorful, and perfectly complemented by expertly cooked noodles. Each bite was a symphony of tastes and textures that left me craving more. While the Sotong Tom Yum soup was decent, it didn't reach the same heights as the Prawn Petai. It was average in comparison, lacking a bit of the boldness and complexity one expects from this classic Thai dish. Moving on to the Morning Glory, it was a standout dish despite a slight oversalting issue. The flavours were vibrant, and the vegetables were perfectly cooked, showcasing the kitchen's skill in handling even the simplest ingredients. One delightful surprise was the complementary Watermelon slices. A refreshing palate cleanser that provided a sweet end to the meal was a thoughtful touch that added to the overall dining experience. Now, let's address the elephant in the room: the ambience. Yes, the restaurant may appear worn down from the outside, but don't let that deter you. You'll quickly forget any initial reservations once you step inside and taste the...

Authentic thai food by the street side.

They'll serve complimentary watermelon before you begin your meal. Ordered tomyum fish soup, stir fried squid in yellow curry , minced meat omelette, and some vegetables. Best tom yum I've had in Phuket, right balance of sourness, creaminess without curdling of coconut milk, some spice kick from fresh chillies. I wish I had more stomach space to try more of their food.

No aircon but they have many fans, can't expect spick and span tables and floor since it's literally by the roadside, but this is what street side stall is and often that's where the best food/chef is found. Price is also much more reasonable than other...

I ate here three times during my week in Bang Tao and honestly if I knew about it early it would have been everyday.

My local friend showed me this spot and I will say it's the best Thai I've had in the entire Phuket.

The price is low, especially for Bang Tao but the quality, care and detail to flavours is amazing.

We got the Tom Yum Rice, fantastic and the Tamrin Prawns, I got it in Chicken the following night. Just non-stop delicious.

The cook use to work at a hotel and you can tell she really cares about what's on her plates.

Highly recommend, it might not look like it's going to be amazing but you'll go...

By the side of the road sort of fare, so was expecting an authentic Thai experience. Ordered some takeaway to have at home and was looking forward to my first tom yum goong this trip. Sadly the dish was taste but not spicy. At all. I think this restaurant caters too much for the western palate and in so doing has lost its authenticity. Just one of many places like it, I was looking for the full Thai culinary experience and I didn’t get it. On to try the next place
