Mr. Tom Yam at SAii Laguna Phuket — Restaurant in Choeng Thale

The Edgewater is one of three restaurants on the grounds of the Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort. Basically, it is a small kitchen building directly on the beach with its rear side to the hotel pools - the ideal place to satisfy the hunger or thirst of the bathers.

The restaurant got the normal kitchen interior and in addition a grill and a pizza oven. You get here next to some Thai dishes also burgers and pizzas.

There are a few tables indoors, otherwise you sit outside right on the beach with perfect sea view. The tables are very simply set, which certainly makes sense during the day with the many children and bathers, but in the evening, I would have liked the tables decorated for a dinner on the beach a little more inviting.

On the second night of my stay I ate a Cesar salad here. Actually, this had been announced to me with a freshly grilled chicken breast - but ultimately nothing came of it.

I had a very attentive service staff with Khun Ak - which, however, also failed because of the motivation and commitment of the cooks.

Due to time constraints - the chicken breast would have taken another 15 minutes - I was advised to take the Cesar salad with grilled shrimp - which I did.

Unfortunately, the cooks could not cope with this and I got the oily shrimp from the pan - almost no roasted aromas ... the bread was one-sided already quite dry - that is, it was not really fresh cut.

In the end I just ate the salad - even if the court finally was a freebee, I did not eat the shrimp at all - no matter if free or paid, if it does not taste it makes no difference.

The salad itself was fresh, the dressing authentic and therefore delicious - but this scarce hour I could have better invest better somewhere else. I hope this was more of an exception in this five-star hotel.

For the kitchen and the unmotivated cooks, there is only one star, one for the location - three it has only become so because Khun Ak has really providing five-star service here.

There is an urgent need for optimization in order to make the Edgewater interesting for the guests even in the evening and in particular for culinary delights - good luck!

July 2021-The restaurant is located on the premises of Saii Laguna Phuket. The restaurant itself is nothing special from the building, just concrete without charm. The location, however, is already top. Directly on the beach. Here you do not sit in the restaurant but outside on chairs in the sand. The pizza I ordered was nothing compared to pizzerias in Europe. I received a standardized ready-made pizza. In Europe you would say frozen pizza. So whoever compares with Europe will be sorely disappointed by this pizza! On the other hand, the staff was extremely attentive and very friendly. So a pizza I personally would not order here again!

DEUTSCH Juli 2021-Das Restaurant befindet sich auf dem Gelände des Saii Laguna Phuket. Das Restaurant selber ist vom Gebäude her nichts besonderes, einfach nur Beton ohne Charme. Die Lage aber ist schon Top. Direkt am Strand. Hier sitzt man nicht im Restaurant sondern draussen auf Stühlen im Sand. Die Pizza welche ich bestellte war nichts im Vergleich zu Pizzerien in Europa. Ich erhielt eine genormte Fertig-Pizza. In Europa würde man dazu Tiefkühlpizza sagen. Also wer mit Europa vergleicht der wird von dieser Pizza schwer enttäuscht sein! Hingegen war das Personal äußerst aufmerksam und seht freundlich. Also eine Pizza würde ich hier persönlich nicht...

Начну с того что кухня расположена на территории отеля SAii Laguna, а именно близ побережья. Соответственно шикарный вид и атмосфера. Посадочные места расположены под открытым небом, поэтому кто предпочитает трапезу в помещении с кондиционером, сразу мимо. Что касается качества еды, она никакая. Название Мистер Том Ям полагаю подразумевает фирменное блюдо суп "Том Ям" который у них вообще не вкусный. За 7 дней пребывания с включённым ужином многое попробовали из меню, бургеры, пиццы, салаты, супы и так далее, отметить могу креветки в кляре и один день был Grill seafood, вот это было вкусно. Сервис относительно удовлетворительный, потому что бывает приходится напоминать что ты ждёшь заказ. Цены относительно цена/качество не соответствует. Намного вкуснее и дешевле можно поесть в других местах. Кстати, тур брали на базе питания завтрак+ужин что не оправдал себя. Во-первых не вкусно и цены завышены, даже если питание включено, вода и напитки оплачиваются отдельно, так за неделю ужинов потратили 2 700 батт. Бутылка воды 258 батт. В общем рекомендую ужин не брать, а выходить за...
