A "Memorable" Visit to Coffee Club Boat Avenue

Yesterday, at the Jungceylon Mall Coffee Club, we experienced dining nirvana—hot food, lively staff, and service so smooth it felt like the staff had rehearsed our visit. Naturally, with such a high, we decided to double down on the Coffee Club experience today by visiting their Boat Avenue branch. Oh, what a reality check that was.

First, let me compliment them on their innovation. Who needs a warm meal when cold food can double as an ice pack for your emotional wounds? Missing items from our order? It's like a scavenger hunt, but instead of treasure, you find disappointment.

The staff at Boat Avenue must have been practicing the art of invisibility because they were nowhere to be found. In a plot twist worthy of a sitcom, I decided to channel my inner server and retrieve our food from the kitchen myself. I’m expecting my employee discount in the mail any day now.

The fried eggs were a culinary masterpiece—if you like your eggs with a layer of carbon for texture. The roasted potatoes, meanwhile, were in their teenage phase: not fully grown, not fully cooked, just hanging out, deciding whether to be food or garden decor.

As for the drinks, I admire their confidence in taking a "surprise me" approach. Wrong orders for everyone! When we finally got our correct drinks, it was as if they'd hired a barista with a grudge.

And the scrambled eggs—cold enough to send shivers down your spine. They were promptly sent back to the kitchen, where I can only assume they went to cry about their inadequacies.

Coffee Club Boat Avenue deserves credit for redefining "service." Who needs attentive staff when customers can just do it all themselves? If you're craving cold meals, burnt offerings, and a side of chaos, this is your spot. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and stick to the Jungceylon branch. Or, you know, literally any other place that serves food.

The staff including the manager was exceptionally rude. Pathetic behavior from an F&B...

Not sure if it's just us but the experience was not a good one. We visited this cafe on our last day in Phuket. We were actually having such a good time up to this point.

As it's the low season, there weren't any other customers in the shop. We ordered 2 carbonara pastas, an English breakfast and an egg croissant, along with some drinks. Despite being the only ones in the shop, it was still 45 mins before the first dish was served. It's probably because they had prioritised serving 4 or so grab/food panda delivery orders, all of which had their drivers arrive way after we had.

Even more disappointing, the food was subpar. Eggs were dry, over cooked and cold. Sausages were undercooked and pale. Mushrooms were barely cooked, dry and unseasoned. Bread was barely toasted, cold and had close to no butter. Pasta was under seasoned and the portion size and bacon serving was much smaller than advertised. Croissant was stale, dry and cold. We actually sent the croissant back to the kitchen and it came back only slightly warmer. Even after reheating, the eggs were only warm in some parts.. very disappointing.

To top it off, the air conditioning didn't seem to be working and the faux leather seats made it so uncomfortable to sit on as the fabric kept sticking to us, making us even warmer. It wasn't even a hot day outside.. in fact, it was cooler outside of the...
