P'Yai Bar and Restaurant — Restaurant in Karon

I don't understand the rating because it's probably the least tasty food I've had in Thailand.I had also asked them to make my food spicy (the Thai way) - they said yes but the food arrived without any kind of spicy or even seasoning. I had to season it myself with what was available on the table. Maybe the good reviews come from people that have not been anywhere else than touristy Phuket or maybe I ordered the wrong dish but it was all so bland and boring. As if this was not enough, the beer I got was so frozen that by the time I could drink it, the fizz was gone. The icing on the cake came from people smoking cigarettes in a covered area where other people (children included) are eating: this shouldn't be allowed. After trying a couple of restaurants in Karon Beach and being disappointed we found this restaurant in the market area and were very happy with our meal and service. We ordered more than we usually would and everything was delicious, looked appealing, service was prompt and dishes all arrived at a similar time (unlike many restaurants which delivered the adult's meals first and followed quite a while later with our children's meals). We tried yellow noodles with shrimp (hokkien and prawns), green curry, calamari, fried egg rice, dumplings and pork ribs. Everything was delicious. The cooks knew what they were doing. Service was great. Price was also very reasonable. Cocktails were 100 bht - unheard of on Australia. If we had more time in Karon we would have returned...
