Terrible, never ever again!

We were very excited to have diner here after a lovely day at the beach. However, it was such a disappointment and ruined our evening.

The location is perfect and decor is absolutely gorgeous, but with that everything is said..

We ordered calamaris as a starter, 2 margarita’s, pasta Napolitana and fried shrimps with garlic and chili.

While ordering we asked if the fried shrimps with garlic dish comes with rice. The waitress said ‘yes’, so my husband asked is it fried with the rest? Which she politely said ‘yes’. She even repeated our order with fried rice with garlic chili shrimps…

We also said not spicy; which she assured that that was not the case.

First of all the starter came way earlier then the drinks.. but okay, this can happen even though there were only like 6 other tables and 5-6 waiters.

Second the fried garlic and chili dish came with absolutely no rice! So we polite asked where the rice was as she confirmed there would be some.

Sorry sorry was the answer and we could get a plain bowl with rice next to it as fried rice “can not”.

The next surprise was that the ‘not spicy’ was extremely spicy! My husband did not finish his dish as there were almost more chili’s in his food than the grilled garlic…

Their pasta’s are quite popular, my Napolitana pasta was unfortunately also very disappointing, bacause the basil was way overpowering the whole dish, and trust me as half italian, I know the pasta’s. For the 3 small shrimps, 4 pieces of squid and nearly some cheese the price is wayyyy overrated and looks nearly like presented on the menu.

As we searched for attention for the bill after the horrible meal, none of the waitress was available as they were all busy with closing the upperdeck where we were sitting at 21:30. They are open until 23:00, so quite strange to already start closing and removing tables and chairs..

Eventuelly my husband made contact with one of the waitresses and she nodded that she would come. My husband was quite annoyed as 10-15 minutes passed and our dishes were not taken away nor the bill was brought. I told him to already leave and that I will handle it. So I asked again for the bill.

The bill came and as cherry on the icing: they charged 300 baht for the plain rice… ridiculous! They at least could offer this for free as a ‘sorry’ for their mistake with the order. Now I was also annoyed and started explaining that we were very disappointed and showed also the dish with all the chili’s and once again mentioned the the rice dish mistakw. She only said sorry sorry I tell next time. So again I said that it was not nice especially as we asked 2 times about the rice. But only got sorry sorry..

I eventuelly gave up paid the bill and left.

Such a shame, great location, amazing decor but lacking service, good food and absolutely way overpriced. We know quite good Thailand and have eaten at local cheap places but also fancy restaurants all over the country. But this was just such a high priced rip-off.

We did not make pictures as we were busy trying to ‘fix’ all the mistakes and after we noticed there was no understanding from their side we left asap.. Regretting I did not make them, as people would be shocked.

We are staying one more night in Koh Samet, so I hope the Club reach out to us and comes with a good solution to somehow change our...

I never post reviews, but the service here was so bad, I'm compelled to.

We ordered drinks and food. After 30 minutes, our drinks hadn't come. We followed up three times and were told there was a long queue, but they were coming.

On our next follow up, we retold them our order. They checked the system, where only 1 drink had been entered. They told us we hadn't ordered our other 2 drinks. (We had). After they insisted we hadn't ordered them, we said it doesn't matter, just put them in the system.

15 minutes later, our first drink comes. We asked about the other two. They said they were at the back of the queue and would be a while. (It's now 45+ minutes since our first order).

We said we don't have time to wait. We just want to cancel the outstanding drinks and pay our bill.

They then bring the bill with the drinks we never got still on it. We asked them to remove it as we had cancelled the drinks.

They came back 10 minutes later and told us, no, we HAD ordered the drinks and they couldn't remove them (they still had never come to our table). After we got angry they agreed to remove them.

Finally, after 10 more minutes, they came back with a bill that had had some drinks removed (the wrong ones, but price was equal, so whatever). And we paid.

We asked to see the manager on duty - we were told that wasn't possible (for a reason that was unclear).

We got many "Sorrys", but no effort to speed up our order or offer any compensation for lost time and anger.

I also speak fluent Thai - so this took place in Thai and was not a language issue.

Many mistakes. Many attempts to blame us for those mistakes. No effort to speed up a fix or to provide any reasonable...

The Thai food here was 5 stars, and amazing. The service left a lot to be desired.

First the food, it is pricy but it was some of the best Thai food I’ve had in my 1 month trip. First day I got the Braised Pork with Cha Muang Leaves and Chili paste, and it was incredible. Super tender chunks of pork with the sauce that I enjoyed to the last drop. Second day I got the Stir Fried Soft-shell Crab with Curry Powder, and it was even better than the pork dish. I didn’t try the pizza or the American dishes so I can’t speak to those, but I highly recommend this place for its Thai food, which is something on another level than great street food (I love good cheap Thai street food of course).

The service was not good. They had 5 people with Trainee shirts on and they didn’t speak English or know what to do generally. I had to make an effort to get anyone’s attention to get a table and then was never seen again by waitstaff other than to bring the dishes. It wasn’t even busy!

They have these great beach chairs on the beach but no one comes to take your order there. I had to get up and ask for someone to bring the food to me there but they didn’t understand until I asked one of the staff who spoke English. If they had a waitstaff for the beach chairs it would be better. I normally hate when people complain about staff that don’t speak English in a foreign country but this restaurant and hotel is expensive and I don’t mind the lack of English as much as the staff seeming to have no direction on what to do. This could easily be fixed and the staff could work on how to be a bit more attentive, wouldn’t take much, just some management help...

My absolute favorite place to eat even if it’s double the price of everywhere else. food is consistent good quality. Beef here is amazing. Their “medium” steak is a bit uncooked for me. It’s not always warm when they serve it either but the taste is great. Chicken salad was amazing too. The truffle fries tastes great but please don’t serve it like that with the mayo all over the fries as they become soft and nasty to eat. Taste is great. I would rather order the fries by itself and then the mayo on the side. If they wanted to upgrade this dish they would sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the fries!! Yum Music here in the evening is like one big show. Come at 18:00 and you will be entertained all night. They have the best fire show on the beach too but don’t sit on the top floor of the restaurant if you wanna see it. Staff is suuuuper nice. Though sometimes confused like serving my water without a glass. Or serving steak and giving me a spoon!!? I have been here now 3 times in 3 days and only once I have been given a knife :-) haha. Makes it hard to cut a steak with a spoon. The garlic chips are soo good so please keep this on the menu with the steak. I wish they offered a green salad with the steak too as it is a bit pricey for rice and steak. All their dishes looks really nice and beautiful presented. Try the dessert lava cake is the best on the beach here. The coffee is good too. I will come many times again.
