SALT Bar Asian BBQ — Restaurant in Ko Samui

I recently had the pleasure if dining at Salt Koh Samui and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The restaurant’s ambience was cozy and elegant with warm lighting and stylish decor.

As for the food, everything we ordered was simply outstanding and well decorated. The main course was cooked to perfection and served with delicious sides, which complemented the main course perfectly. The portions were generous, and every bite was delight.

What really stood out for me, however, was the dessert was absolute showstopper, and I would highly recommend saving room for it. It was perfect balance of sweetness and richness, with stunning presentation that almost looked too good too eat.

Salt Bar Asian BBQ is not in the best location in Lamai. We sat at the front and felt very close to the road. Good for watching passing motor bikes and people walking by. It's a shame the plot opposite is now partly a building site and some of the neighbouring properties look a bit derelict.

The food was very nicely presented and the taste was OK. Nothing special at all (except the blueberry & almond milkshake which was excellent). Not sure why both of the hot dishes we ordered came cold.

Service was fine.

The prices are high for Samui. I guess you're paying for proper napkins.

What a find! We had the gyozas, Khao Soi and black pepper beef. The Khao Soi was simply incredible. Using the finest ingredients, the meat was so succulent, the sauce creamy and full of flavour and the crispy noodles, oh the crispy noodles. It may not be completely traditional, and the restaurant advertises as fusion. It was a great take on the famous noodle soup dish. The gyozas were very good, and the black pepper beef was great.
