Blue Water Cafe & Restaurant — Restaurant in Ko Tao

Like some of other reviews mentioned, this is a typical modern Sairee beach cafe, with a good menu but kind of high prices for Thai standards.

We came here twice for dinner and breakfast the next day. The we had classic beef burger and fish taco for dinner. My husband’s burger was average. The burger came with potato wedges. My fish taco was good with good amount of veggie in it. There are 2 strips of deep fried fish in each taco (2 pieces). Because the fish is deep fried, I found it a bit too rich, especially when they pair it with the creamy spicy mayo sauce on top though.

The breakfast my husband had the following day was good, just like any typical continental breakfast.

I ordered “Pork Boiled Rice Soup” for breakfast as I felt a bit nauseous from motion sickness. My dish was good according to Thai standard. (I’m Thai, by the way😊)

We had hot cappuccino and it was decent. Their medium blend are from Thailand, Brazil and Ethiopia. The coffee we had wasn’t bad like some other reviews had mentioned here. I guess it depends on WHO make the coffee that day.

Overall, we wanna give 3.75 stars for food as it was good but nothing special that would make us remember it well.

3.5 Stars for service here. We understand that most of the staff don’t communicate either in Thai or English fluently, so it took quite some time trying to communicate to them what we would like. The good thing is even when one of them didn’t understand something, they went to get someone else who could explain things a bit clearer to us and the staff were attentive.

5 stars for the atmosphere. The cafe opens up to the beach and they have plenty of seats on the beach as well as inside the cafe. The ambience is lovely and relaxing. They play good music like jazz and vintage music here on the days...

I primarily come here for a refreshing non-alcoholic beverage once I get thirsty from laying on the beach. I don't really come here for the food as it's been sub-par to me. However, do come here for the live music in the evening. Her voice is wonderful!

The Matcha Latte comes unsweetened & frothy. The Ginger Shake was interesting. I really love their fresh Hot Ginger Tea. I ask for a glass of ice when I want it cold. I love their Mint Lemonade! So refreshing.

Calamari was too rubbery/overcooked for me.

The fries were nice & moist.

Chicken Wrap isn't really a "wrap". Everything fell out on the bottom, lol. It got messy, but it tasted good.

Their Carrot Cake was really delicious! I took it for take-away so I could eat it at room temperature & it was so moist & not too sweet.

I made the mistake of ordering a Coffee Panna Cotta, thinking it was coffee flavored panna cotta. Mmnope. You get a panna cotta dish then pour a shot of espresso into it.

Then there's the Caprese Salad. The presentation is lovely.. .but it felt like so much work to eat such a simple dish.

Their Fruit Salad comes with a little shot of OJ? The bowl of fruit seemed really tiny compared to other places I've gone to.

Like I said, I don't really come here for the food, but ambience, music, beach seating, & friendly servers make...

Shocking! So we got here just after sun set and it was rather busy, so we was glad they found us a seat. The restaurant was fully staffed and was a nice spot on the beach. However! There was no organisation we waited at least ten minutes to order our drinks and food. Live music was on which was very good. Drinks ordered at 6:50, ten minutes later still no drinks, twenty minutes later still no drinks, 30 minutes later still no drinks! I asked many times, where are drinks were and we was told they was coming numerous times. Tables by us had ordered drinks after us and they where there in seconds. 40 minutes go by still no drinks, we was absolutely fuming. We grabbed our belongs and left making sure the staff knew how we felt in a nice way but it was absolutely shocking. They went on to apologise and said we will make them for you now 40 minutes later. For the price of food and drinks you expect a drink in 10/15 minutes at most. We wouldn’t of been bothered if we had our drinks and the food took an hour because we would of bought more and more drinks. DO NOT COME HERE! We decided to go a restaurant two doors down called the hippie and drinks and food where there in 20-25 minutes....
