Palm Tree Restaurant — Restaurant in Krabi Province

We've been staying in Krabi Tipa Resort just beside this restaurant. Every day after dinner we've been visiting this place just to have couple of beers and chill out. The place is quiet, with very good music playing in the background and general lovely atmosphere. However what is spoiling a potentially perfect spot is the staff. They are either poorly trained or not trained at all + arrogance added on top. Specifically the young man who was standing behind the cashier was behaving extremely rudely towards us for absolutely no reason. Serving us with an arrogant manner, almost throwing plates on our table. I caught him once standing behind my friend and mumbling something in front of other staff to make them laugh. Rest of the staff completely unhinged and lazy. Sitting and tapping their phones constantly and behaving like they were doing a favor to serve you. I stopped visiting the place after they put 5 beers on my bill while I ordered 4 only. We ordered a beer and after waiting 10 minutes we stopped another staff girl saying that it didn't come so she finally brought it to us. Apparently the first order was put on the bill despite never reaching our table. In the end I refused to pay for this beer and the girl who failed to deliver it was about to argue with me. I tried to explain that she did not deliver the order but she put it on my bill. Every time I started talking she was arrogantly cutting me off and trying to force her version. After 3rd time I had enough and raised my voice. This is when I finally got the proper bill. I paid and never came back.

So the place has got a potential but unfortunately due to the arrogant staff behavior cannot be recommended.

My experience at Palm Tree Restaurant in Krabi was nothing short of exceptional. Right from the first visit, the green curry had me hooked with its authenticity and burst of flavors. It's rare to find a place that does justice to traditional dishes, and Palm Tree Restaurant does it with finesse.

Although we were led to the restaurant with the impression it would be great, considering the high rating here on Google, I have to say the experience was disappointing.

The food was taking more than 1h to arrive and when we asked the staff about it they told us it would take 30mins more because “thai food requires time” (even though we ordered a Pad Thai and a fried rice, which can be done in less than 15mins).

In addition, it seems like they have a very small kitchen and cook only one meal at a time, so they simply cannot cook in the pace of a normal restaurant. This problem was not explained to us once we arrived.

Finally, we realized that they asks the guests to leave 5 stars review in exchange for a free beer, which didn’t seem fair. In the end we left the restaurant without our food and went to eat in another...
