We visit Tew Lay Bar for a drink and the location is fantastic and the views amazing, that’s where the positives end. We walked in and were ushered to a table and promptly asked what we would like to drink. As we were planning on drinking anyway we ordered a couple of drinks. While relaxing and enjoying the view we started to hear someone shouting. We turned around to find the owner shouting at someone who started to walk through the restaurant. He proceeded to tell him that the land the restaurant was on was private and they couldn’t stay unless they bought a drink. This argument went on for 5 or so minutes with the owner getting louder and louder. Finally the customers left and we thought that would be the end of it. We were sadly wrong. The owner now stood guard at the entrance telling anyone who came close that they could not come through his restaurant unless they purchased a drink. It was an easy mistake to make as when walking along the path your eyes get pulled to the view and you naturally want to check it out. After this we thought we might eat so I decided to check reviews after what just happened. After checking reviews we decided to not tempt fate. A group of Chinese people next to us did and one sent his meal back saying there were black ants on it. As I mentioned we didn’t eat and I didn’t see them but overheard the conversation. It’s such a shame that this restaurant is in such a great location but very poorly run. If you want a drink and great views check it out but don’t walk in just to...

The path leading up to the cafe is a little dirty. However, the restaurant is aesthetically beautiful (Totally made for the gram!) and has a very comfortable vibe. The sea view is gorgeous and has a calming effect. There are bean bags and comfortable seating across the place. The place can be maintained a little better. The bean bags were not very clean.
Food - The menu is elaborate and we tried a couple of Thai food options (Shrimp salad and mango and sticky rice). The food was well presented and tasty.
Service - The restaurant staff are courteous and helpful.
Overall, will totally recommend this place....

This place epitomizes the concept of lepak. There's a large area just next to the dining hut that has bean bags, outdoor armchairs and swings for you to just... Chill. You do nothing but look out at the sea and feel the wind on your face. You don't need to order anything to chill there either though an iced cold beer to pair with the experience is a match made in heaven.
Be careful of the bugsssss. Tons of mosquitoes, so come with some repellent.
You would think the food will then be average. No! The complete opposite! Loved the flavorful Thai food. The chicken wings are a big recommendation from me. The Tom yam soup and the fried rice. Go for it, they are delicious.
All in all, a big...
