So first time hostel first time railay and believe me it was perfect! The staff gives you the vibe of coming home to family, everybody is chill from the guest to the loval staff over to the chicken and cats of the property! They do loads of activities that you can join but you can do your own thing as well. I ve been to the boat party (BOAT PARTYYY) and it was awesome! We went snorkeling, then chilling at ko poda and enjoying the sunset and a nightdrive all while blasting music on a pink boat drinking some booze. We were like 30 people and Richie and of course our blanco team gave us an amazing time and the whole thing was a vibe! If you ever comw to railay go to blanco!

Ps: one down sode for maybe some: nothing to lock away your stuff and they take your passport! As said the vibe is good and nothing happened to my stuff (Laptop 1.5k, mouse 100bucks, celly, Cash, cards) everything open in my bag, bithing got taken! Even left my stuff on top floor and hoing down to shower, come back up everything there... 🫰

Cleanliness: I was in the big dorm next to the reception for 12 people. It got cleaned daily at 11 a.m. So it was fine by me, only some guests dont know how to clean after they shat 😅 so therefore it was very good especially for a hostel in my opinion!

Food: Food is pretty good, easy and fast! My favorite was the penang Curry ped mak maaak

Super upset with this hostel. Been traveling for years and it’s unfortunate how one staff member/volunteer can negatively impact your experience. I booked my hostel via HostelWorld at 3:30pm to stay that night just before boarding a flight to Krabi. I of course am new to the Krabi area and after booking, I realized I needed to take a boat to get to the hostel and I arrived too late to Ao Nang (around 7/8pm). I emailed, called, WhatsApped all within their advertised open reception time and there was radio silence. In the morning, I checked my email and no response. I decided to try and travel to Railay beach to sort out my stay. The receptionist tried to charge me for the night prior despite me not staying there. I said that I tried contacting multiple times with no response. Then this rude, i think English guy, said that I would still be charged. He also told me he saw my email yet he did not bother to reply. He is unprofessional and rude. I sent the email at 8:30pm the night prior and reception is posted to close at 9pm. The following day, reception had the entire morning until 2 pm, the day/time of my true arrival, to attempt communication with me but again, nothing. They were ultimately non-empathetic and only trying to score money. The receptionist and I came to an agreement that she would cancel my hostelworld booking and charge me as a walk-in for 2 nights. So I forfeited my deposit and paid in cash for 2 nights. However, It was so terrible, I abandoned my stay and checked out a day early. I didn’t even ask for a refund. To my surprise, they charged me another nights stay the next day after leaving the property. Total scam. I am so pissed. I’ve stayed at several hostels and this one is simply...

You have to climb some stairs tho but there is a lift for your luggage! Just leave it down there nobody takes anything and Tell reception. You have a nice view to the sea on the balcony with quite cozy matraces to lay on. It is it a bit further from the centre, but honestly not much to See there, best food was around blanco anyway. There is a gym for 200 baht a day or cheaper if you stay 3 or 7 days right on the bottom of the stairs and has everything you need. The bar down is great too and location for many of the fun drinking games and evenings from the staff. Again big thx for having me! I hope to come back but being 35 this might be tricky :D

Terrible experience. I had booked a 4-bed dormitory, but despite the room being newly occupied by 3 out of the 4 guests, the environment was neglected, dirty, and worn-out. The bathroom, in particular, was in disgusting condition-more like a low-quality public restroom, without toilet paper and practically unusable. I asked the receptionist if something could be done, as it was clear the bathroom hadn't been cleaned that day, and probably not even in the previous days. However, nothing was done. Despite being forced to leave because of the unsanitary conditions, I received no apologies or understanding. Instead, I had to endure the unprofessional and rude attitude of this so-called manager. The staff, with the exception of the guys at the bar, were rude, inefficient, and completely unprepared to handle even a basic request. I had to insist on an early check-out and on getting my passport back in order to leave. After 40 minutes of waiting, the "manager", dramatically annoyed by the situation, threatened not to return my passport, turning her back on me after receiving my negative feedback. This attitude showed a complete lack of professionalism. I often stay in hostels because I support sustainable tourism and enjoy meeting new people, but this place is the complete opposite of these values. A hostel should be a place of community, respect, and care for the spaces, but none of that was present here. The structure has potential, but the service is absolutely inadequate.

Cons: - Stairs are somewhat exhausting and inconvenient (but totally manageable). The additional stairs to the bungalo are homemade and very wonky- so tricky to climb. - WiFi is ridiculously poor, especially compared to other hostels around Thailand. They really need to work on this. - Bathrooms are old, outdated and pretty bad. There’s no hand soap by the sink. The mirror was small and very scratched up. Lighting was terrible. Ventilation was poor too. - Not much of a social space for meeting new people in the off season. Most people are gone all day and the pool is usually empty. Groups come here together, so it can be tough for solo travelers to meet people. - The fan in our room was broken and never got fixed. - Attracts a party type of backpacker, so you’ll be woken up throughout the night when folks stumble home. Pros: - I love the wristbands that you scan to enter your dorm. They’re waterproof too! - they give you a free towel! - The front desk has info on ferry schedules and you can even buy tickets with them (but they’re cheaper in the town.) - They host daily events like a buffet dinner, free fire show, paid muy thai show and paid pub crawl all year round. - The pool is really clean and nice! - Large locker storage under the beds (just bring a lock!) - AC in the rooms. - Only cheap place to stay in Railey! There’s no other hostels in the area! - Outlets and lights by every dorm bed.
