Wow! What an amazing experience my wife and I had here tonight. We have been in Thailand for a month now and me being Italian I couldn't hold off on my pasta cravings for much longer. Spent the whole day trying to find an Italian resturaunt in Krabi for some tasty authentic food at a reasonable price.
I stumbled across this little abode on google after searching and boy it didn't dissapoint. We went for a walk and find it tucked away from the hustle and bustle of aonang's main strip. Very small resturaunt with limited tables seating but beautiful ambience in place. Gives you that nice little "at home" feeling when you sit down to eat.
We ordered the bruschetta to start and it was just that, simple bruschetta capturing all of the flavours of Italy. Perfect amount of herbs and olive oil accompanying the tomatoes.
For the mains we got the bolognese and the carbonara. The bolognese you could taste that it had been slow cooked for hours (as it should) no details were missed including the sofritto!! 10/10
The carbonara was just that, simple Italian carbonara with bacon (understanding guanciale and pancetta is probably hard to find here in thailand) egg yolks, parmagiano and cracked black pepper. Absolutley delicious and nothing overcomplicated. 10/10.
We also ordered 4 margaritas between us and the flavours of them were beautifully balance with the right amount of salt and sour taste.
I finished it all off with a short black and the owner came out and had a chat with my wife and I. What a lovely lady she was. You can see that she is extremely passionate about her cooking and cares more about sharing the flavours of her food with her customers than she does money. She even brought out some complimentary bread with olive oil and Balsamic vinegar straight from Modena Italy. Everything was priced very well and there was no compromise for quality of Ingredients.
Fantastic food Nim. We will visit again before we leave Ao Nang.
Regards, Brandon & Jade
4 x margaritas 1 x espresso 1 x bruschetta (appetiser) 2 x main meals (pastas) Totalling at 1100 baht (very good value for money when you compare to other self-proclaimed Italian resturaunts).

Read moreCozy little place with italian/thai menu. Prizes are higher than many other resturants in the area e.g. soft drink 50 bath where in most places they are 30 bath. We shared a Maithai before eating which was refreshing - would have liked it shaken in ice to cool it down a little bit however.
We ordered shrimp cakes for starters which were delicious - do recommend!
My partner had the Tom Yum Shrimps which was very tasty and a good spice level according to her preferences. 5 big shrimps included - we can recommend this dish as well.
I wanted to test how good their pasta was and what better way than ordering carbonara. Unfortunately I was a little bit disappointed: The portion size was a little small for my preference but not crazy small. They used thin bacon (not guanciale or pancetta) which was fried very crisp and in limited amount. Using bacon is not that big of a deal but it should have been more of it. I find it very hard to believe that pecorino was used as cheese - it tasted something else. I understand that Pecorino/parmeggiano availability in Thailand might be limited. The major "flaw" in the dish was however the consistency; the eggs had been almost been scrambled and the creamy consistency that you expect from a carbonara was not there.
Overall however we thought that it was a pleasant experience and the staff was very friendly and helpful! Hard to get a super-good atmosphere being located 2 meters from a busy road. Do visit, but lower your expectations if you expect...
