Papaya Restaurant INDIAN & THAI FOOD — Restaurant in Krabi Province

Very bad experience! The worst meal we ever had in Krabi so far. We were the second table waiting for dinner and the 1st table was 2 paxes. But we waited for around 45mins - 50mins from order until the 1st dish was served. Imagine if there're more tables ahead you. They sent me the wrong meal. I ordered coconut milk chicken and did double confirm with the waiter while ordering and pointed on the the dish photo too. Ended up they sent us yellow curry chicken which the dish is stated at the different page in the menu. When checked with the same waiter, he told us that the yellow curry contained coconut milk. Ridiculous! Can I serve a cup of coffee and tell the customer who ordered a glass of water that there's water in the water? Ended up we just accepted their mistake because who wants to wait another 45mins again for a meal to be served again. The second dish is fried chashewnut chicken. OMG! The chicken is not fully cooked.Look at the photo! When I just bite on it, I felt chewy and soft and totally isn't the normal cooked chicken meat. Furthermore, this is the first time I ever had fried cashewnut chicken came with gravy. I had N times the same dish before and all are dry in presentation without gravy at all. I really doubted whether the right dish was served or they cooked wrongly again and tried to cover it by sprinkled some cashewnut on top. The papaya salad is really nothing impressive. Had a really bad experience at this restaurant.

Went over to eat cause I saw great reviews on google.

Dinner was served after waiting for more than 30 mins, there wasn’t even other ppl in the place, so the wait was really redundant. Ask for food to be served and then it was served shortly.

Food came and taste wise it’s average.

Steam Crab was still raw inside, we ate it anyway and thank god it’s fresh cause no tummy discomfort after.

Had a fish, half side cooked the other half uncooked. They suggested to bring it back to cook it further.

Asked for bill and once again, with no one else in the shop, it took around 5-10 mins.

However great the food can be, just be warned that the waiting time is long. Not too great for 5 hangry people.

Furthermore dishes came half cooked, so it’s also another disappointment.

Family run, this place is a fantastic splice of Thai and Indian. The Indian food was slightly different to that I have tried before in the UK but not in a bad way, it was extremely enjoyable. They also never hesitated to make the chicken jalfrezi vegetarian despite it not being on the menu. Service was friendly and casual which made it very welcoming, despite the fact there was only one other group present. Even though it was a quiet night, I have given 5 stars for atmosphere because the effort is all there; for example playing music while we waited for our food, and checking on us while we ate.
