Baan Restaurant “Thai Family Recipes” — Restaurant in Lumphini Subdistrict

My guest and I were constantly and continually attacked and bitten by mosquitos throughout the meal. This being the reason for the one-star rating. After asking for help, the staff did try to spray something to help but it did not alleviate the situation and we were left unsuccessfully swatting mosquitos away. I did manage to kill two; but many remained.

The food was definitely above average Thai food but I would not say it was excellent by any means. There was also a 25-minute wait between when we got our last starter and our first main dish. We also had to ask for rice multiple times before it was served to us.

It is unfortunately hard to imagine that this place once had a Michelin star or that it’s associated with Le Du.

Overrated, overpriced and issues with service integrity. I decided to give this restaurant a try after reviews and seeking an opportunity to give the family a treat in Bangkok.

I was disappointed with experience. Felt I was mislead into over ordering when Head Waiter said I did not order enough and was pushing me to order the expensive sea bass. I felt at the end of the meal we had over ordered.

Food experience was average at best. There are some good dishes like the lamb masaman and spice eggs. Morning glory is used very innovative style for one dish. However, the order dishes were very ordinary - surprise given the Michelin rating and strong reviews in the press.
