Saw a couple Indian places around Patong and decided to take a break from Thai food to try Indian here in Thailand via Grab delivery. First off, the price is very low. I’m used to good authentic Indian food back in the States from an Indian town I live close to, and the same order would cost me around 3 times more. Places vary depending on which region the owners are from but they all share the same level of quality and flavor. I got a few of the same things I usually get - butter chicken, garlic naan, chicken lollipops, vegetable samosa, and a mango lassi - and started with the samosa. It was delicious and I literally thought to myself “this is better than back home.” The 2 sauces, green (coriander) and orange (tamarind), had great flavor, especially the tamarind which I usually don’t like. The mango lassi was ok. It wasn’t as tart as I’m used to and didn’t have as much yogurt / dairy, but definitely still drinkable despite tasting watered down. Similar lack of quality with the chicken lollipops. They were completely drenched in sauce and soggy which I’ve never seen before. Not crunchy at all. The sauce also lacked flavor and tasted bland. Still edible though. The butter chicken was similar. Still edible but lacking flavor. The chicken in the curry gravy was overcooked and dry unlike the lollipops. Note the curry doesn’t come with rice so you have to order this a la carte. All the Indian restaurants back home provide a small amount of rice with every curry order but that’s not the case here and I forgot to order some. That’s on me for not paying closer attention but figured I’d mention it in case anyone else is ordering delivery. Lastly, the garlic naan. Unfortunately the garlic naan was terrible and I could only get myself to eat some of it by dipping it in the curry, but I ended up throwing most of it out. The garlic naan back home is my favorite part of the meal, but the dough here had no flavor at all. It wasn’t anything to do with the garlic topping but rather the dough. Something is not right with the dough and maybe how it’s cooked. The naan looked much more white than what I’m used to. Was slightly disappointed with the meal but I didn’t have very high expectations. Plus the price was low. I’d go back for vegetable samosas and maybe try something else fried but would caution against the other items mentioned above, the naan most of all. Hope this review is...
Read moreDon’t order from here! This restaurant is disgusting, and disrespectful. I ordered over 650 baht with them and they sent portions 1/3 full in the containers. Missing an item in order also. Palak paneer is a stable in my diet I know what it tastes like. This is NOT palak paneer. It’s 50% oil and there is no way it’s spinach. It’s black in color and tastes FOUL. I have had it here 5 times over last month and all taste correct- this is straight rubbish. I didn’t even attempt to try the rest. They have NO business making Indian food. I let the owner know and he first blamed his staff, then he FORCED ME to take more food after I said no. I just want my money. I proceeded to say NO 5 times in total. 2 via phone and 3 in person to the staff that he sent to deliver me food after I said no! So I took it to a homeless person instead of wasting food. This business is gross but above that is disrespectful. NO means NO. If I could give 0 stars I would. Wish I woulda saw all the horrible reviews before...
