This place seems to have great popularity amongst the Khaleeji (Arabian gulf) tourists. It is the first thing you will notice as soon as you enter.
My expectations were far higher than my experience over there. The place has decent seating areas, with two indoors on the ground and the upper floor. The ground indoors area was super crowded when we arrived, we could not sit there. The upper indoor area was OK, except when I came there were empty plates left by other customers. This being said, the outdoor area on the upper floor was much cozier, however heat can be an issue depending on your choice of time.
I had a double classic burger. I was not impressed neither by the taste nor the quality of the food. The beef within the burger had the chewy little bits(the stuff you get in average quality minced beef). My French fries were average-ish also. The pricing on the other hand was much better than most other burger franchises, so I’ll give them that.
The staff were generally VERY friendly and nice. Something I have been noticing all across Phuket. The people are extremely welcoming and lovey.
Overall, I anticipated a much higher quality of food, perhaps it was my choice of meals, but the overcrowdedness which resulted in extreme prolonged delays in the food delivery kind of destroyed...
Read moreI've been reviewing burger joints recently so when Fat Mamma showed up with good reviews and mouth watering pics by customers I knew I had to go. I'm in Patong for a few days and it's just a few minutes away.
Bottom line: among the great burgers of Phuket. I opted for the 2x 100 gram patties at 280 baht. Reasonable for heart of tourism. The single burger is 140 gram at 240 baht. Sign of an astute owner, different weight patties like that.
The preparation in terms of sauces and produce was superb. Nothing getting in he way of the star of the show. The beef is perfectly seasoned and posesses that certain umami kick.
And I must mention the bun. They come whole and are sliced in half when building the burger. The bread is tasty and importantly, a bit denser than standard factoy buns. They hold together and even with a juicy burger, the bottom does not disintegrate.
One niggle is that the portion of small fries at 40 baht should be ablut 50% more, but not a dingable...
Read moreI know this restaurant since it was a small joint in one of the back streets. From day one, we told the owner that she needs to expand and that she makes some of the best burgers we have ever tasted.
A couple of years later, the wait time to get your order or a table can go more than 60 minutes and guess what? It is worth the wait. Perhaps avoid the busy times if you prefer to get your food faster.
This time I came with the family and I was fascinated with the level of the customer service, specially, Min Marn who went out of his way to accommodate us. Especially since my wife was not feeling well.
It is not just the food and well done Fatma for growing the business while still maintaining quality and great customer service. Of course, thank you Min Marn and we will be back again.
Highly...
