Café Amazon — Restaurant in Pattaya City

Been coming here for aprox 3 years, often 3 or 4 times a week, to have a coffee and juice after my daily walk. I love sitting outside looking out at the beach and in that respect this is my favourite coffee shop in Pattaya. Coffee is decent enough for the price, food average. I’m reviewing because got a little upset today. I don’t always tip, but I tip more often than I don’t. I don’t think once they have acknowledged the tip … that I don’t mind, I tip to help them a little bit if they have been friendly or given good service, not for self gratitude. Today the girl gave me my change, not on the usual black tray with receipt, but placed it on the tip box, banging it on purpose. For that reason alone I didn’t tip …. she then went onto tell another staff member in Thai that I didn’t tip, not realising I can understand Thai. This is not the Thailand I know. Doubtful manager or Amazon reads this … if they do … please remind staff to act...

The Products It's about the same as every other Cafe Amazon - same drinks, similar snacks, etc.

Location The beach view is lovely. There is parking along the street for cars and motorcycles. No problems finding parking in the morning.

There is no indoor seating, which is something to consider on an extremely hot day or if air conditioning is something you absolutely need. The outdoor seating is comfortable enough, tables are not packed too close to each other. Much of the seating is shaded, but that depends on the time of the day (sun's location overhead).

Service The service was friendly and efficient. The woman who took my order knew enough English to understand my order requests. No...

Great little Amazon right on beach road. Very friendly staff & good cheap coffee & very friendly & nice staff. It opens early at 6.30am which is rare for a coffee shop. Plus let you use a credit card for even just s coffee - even rarer. No inside seating. Just a small shop with nice seating outside. Plus it is part of the D-Beach Restaurant, and you can sit to their tables & use their toilets. Only downside (and minus 1 star) is the stream of old farangs that come to chain smoke their lives away over a coffee, especially around 7am. Because it is all outside seating, sometimes you can't escape it. (some ash just...
