Hemingway's Bar and Restaurant in Jomtien Beach lives up to its reputation as a reliable spot for quality comfort food, great value, and a welcoming atmosphere perfect for catching up with friends. The venue strikes a great balance, combining the relaxed feel of a classic English pub with the comfort of full air conditioning, which is a massive plus in Pattaya's heat. The spot is popular with both locals and expats, offering a clean, modern, and spacious environment that is attentive to both dining and sports viewing. The Food We visited with a group of old friends, and the menu provided plenty of variety to satisfy everyone. I opted for the Meat Lovers Calzone special (195 Baht), and it was fantastic value. The calzone was large, packed with filling, and served hot—a perfect pub grub special. My girlfriend ordered the Pork Tenderloin (200 Baht), which she enjoyed, commenting on the tenderness of the pork and the fair price point. The fact that we found two great mains, one a generous special and the other a quality cut of meat, for around 200 Baht each, underscores Hemingway's commitment to "good value," which they pride themselves on. The Experience Beyond the food, the experience was great because of the environment. The staff are professional, attentive, and speak excellent English, ensuring quick and easy service, even when discussing the specials or menu items. With multiple screens showing various sports, there's always something engaging happening, but the layout ensures you can still enjoy a focused conversation. Final Verdict Hemingway's is an excellent choice for a satisfying, well-priced meal in a comfortable, clean setting. If you're looking for a place where you can relax, enjoy a hearty Western or Thai dish, and have a genuinely great time with company, this is definitely a top spot in the Jomtien area. Read moreI decided to give Hemingway’s at Jomtien another try after a considered response from the manager regarding my previous experience. This time I ordered the “seared pork sirloin with Dijon sauce”. It looked great on the menu. Clearly a couple of thin , pan seared sirloin fillets covered in what looked like a delicious creamy Dijon sauce. What was presented however was a bland pan broiled assembly of pork meat slithers in an even more disappointing tasteless flour sauce.
I asked to speak to a manager regarding my concerns and was bluntly told that the picture was identical to the the meal what was presented. It clearly was not. A grill seared sirloin is not the same as par boiled pork pieces. The arrogant, dismissive attitude offered by the floor manager was as disappointing as the food. I tried to do the right thing and address the disappointment on the night but was dismissed with some contempt by the floor staff for questioning the menu and meal. I can only attribute the restaurants continuing operation to the warmth of the venue in general and pub like feel. In my humble opinion The food is certainly not worth the effort.
After eating at Hemingway’s in Pattaya many times and enjoying it very much - I was totally disappointed by the poor quality of food in their Jomtien restaurant. I had the “New Zealand” lamb chops which were certainly not from NZ and most definately not lamb! The “chops” were about 1cm thin, 80% fat and on the verge of smelling rancid. The gravy was bland and the spinach was also rather unpleasant both in texture and odour, with some kind of buttery cream sauce. It turned out to be a very expensive 595 baht side of boiled carrots and mash potaoto. It may have just been a single event of bad food and my turn for it, but I certainly won’t be coming back. The fact that a “chef” would present such food to a customer is not a good sign for what else may go on in the kitchen. The table staff were lovely and service was efficient. It’s a nice pub with a good...

2nd review I would like to add to my first review.
I was contacted by the manager after my first review with a very professional reply. He was genuinly concerned and stated he would make some changes.
I was immpressed with this level of service and stated I would give it another try one day. Before I had a chance to go back, I recieved this email from the manager.
"Just wanted to give you a very quick update. As a result of your feedback on the calzone meat feast we have now updated the recipe to include a superior Italian salami in place of the chicken franks we were using before. We’ve also increased slightly the filling and the way we pack it out before folding.
I hope next time you come you will enjoy the new & improved version along with the other minor changes we made following your review.
Best wishes,"
I have lived here for 9 years, never have I had such concern and service from any food place here. It is impressive to say the least.
They will see me again for sure! Will keep you all posted
First review Seated with menu and brought first beer in good time. Then waited 19 minutes to place my food order. Then sat with no beer for 11 minutes and only able to order second one when they brought order. Plate was crawling with ants. Multi meat calzone said had sausage, it was the cheap mini hot dog wieners you get at 711. Filling was only in the center, 3" of crust all around with nothing in it. Only reason I ate a lot of the empty crust was because I was hungry. Pathetic On a plus note, the atmosphere was decent, good music, but certainly did not stay to have a few more...
