TL;DR If you're Thai, or if you don't like to beg for service, just don't go to Marco's. Trust me.
Went in for a takeaway order of 1 pizza and 1 pasta, but while I trying pay for the food, the cashier seems to forget that I was there in front of her, because instead of taking the money I placed in front of her, she just keep keying in other orders and talking to other employees, for what I would say a rude period of waiting time. I mean, there was no reason to keep me waiting and there was no apology whatsoever.
The cashier told me it was going to take 15 minutes so I told her I will come back to pick it up. Keep in mind that while I was paying for the food there was another western gentlemen next to me going through the menu as well. After about 10 minutes, I got back to the restaurant, they said it wasn't ready yet, which is understandable, but after a few minutes, the western gentlemen I mentioned earlier, received his order(also takeaway), which seems to be similar to mine, a pizza and another dish, so I'm not sure if this restaurant has a Farang First policy or what. After a while I got a bit irritated so ask politely asked the waitress how much longer it would take for my order(this is 20 minutes after I ordered) , she replied that it was coming, shrugging off my question completely, not even going back to ask the kitchen. I'm not sure if I did anything wrong(pretty sure I didn't) to receive this kind of treatment, but it sure wasn't pleasant. All in all, it took 30 minutes for a pizza and a pasta, and the restaurant wasn't even full. BUT, that's not it, after I got the food, I took it into my car which is parked in front of the restaurant and eat it straight away, and guess what, the pizza was very soggy, the crust wasn't crips, and it was NOT HOT, definitely not something you would expect from a fresh out-of-the-oven pizza. It was so soggy that I couldn't even tell the difference between the dough and the cheese. I know this restaurant can do better(food wise), because my first time there the pizza was good enough to make me go back for a second time, but after this experience, I doubt there will be...
Read moreToday we went to Marcoâs for the first time. To be fair, I have ordered their pizza for delivery and really enjoyed it.
Arriving we were worried it would be too full and weâd be turned away because of all the cars and motorbikes outside. Luckily there were still 2 empty tables.
As luck would have it we arrived just a few minutes after a family of 7 (5 adults and 2 children), a table of 6 and a table of 3.
Our order was promptly taken and drinks arrived very quickly. We ordered the 1/2 portion of Italian cold cuts and mixed salad for starters and a Diavola pizza as the main.
In what I would say is a very reasonable and appropriate time our starters arrived. The cold cuts were perfect. It was a very nice portion and also a nice variety. It came with a small bowl of olives, butter and fresh bread. The salad was as expected. Quite fresh and well presented. What more can you say about salad? đ
It was off to a great start. The food was perfect, arriving on time and literally as advertised in the menu.
As requested the pizza arrived in the time frame you would expect. We were very pleased as I fully expected the pizza to arrive within a few minutes of the starters. We were very impressed that the western style standard of starters being finished, a small but appropriate gap and the delivery of the main course.
The pizza was piping hot, perfectly cooked and absolutely LOADED with spicy salami. The crust was crunchy and firm but not over cooked.
Finishing this masterpiece off was two scoops of ice cream. One scoop of cookies and cream and one of macadamia nut brittle. Both were superb. Very large scoops in a frozen glass. It was a very nice touch.
All in all itâs a 10 of 10 for us.
It may have been our first time dining in but it definitely will not...
Read moreWorking in the same industry,It is a heartbreaking to give 2 stars review for your restaurant but staffs need an improvement and more well-trained. I didnât expect a 5 stars quality. Your food tastes really good and I think this is the only reason I keep coming back. Although last time I visited I asked for the bread ,1 of your staff said âwe always serve bread together with foodâ then I said I want to have bread with wine. Then later on my pasta and steak come at the same time. And I said I havenât got the bread and im not ready for steak but your staffs ignore it which is unacceptable for Italian restaurants and make me not happy with my meal anymore. Me as an Italian restaurant manager I also mentioned this situation as a case study when i trained my colleagues as well. Even though it seems like your staffs only friendly with foreigners, I am a local thai how they treated me is not nice. But i also invite my colleagues to try your food and finally we made our time to come last night. We arrived around 9:40 and I already asked when is the restaurant closing. I always check the time. Around 10:40pm I went to toilet. 1 of your staff even vaping in your restaurant when we left the restaurant none of your staff say âthank youâ then my colleagues said to me that while i went to the toilet, 1 lady ironically said to her âcan i clear the table?ââeveryone is already leftâ I was shocked! I would never say this to my customers! I understand that they wanna go home but its not 11pm and she not supposed to say this to my colleagues. My colleagues said she will never come back to this place, as a person who invited her that makes me feel embarrassed. We both agreed on a quality and taste of the food but we wonât come back or recommend...
