The Golden Ferret Restaurant and Golf Society Pattaya — Restaurant in Pattaya City

We have been coming here for years, but after renovation the attitude of staff is terrible, refused to adjust food for Veg / Vegan guests, just did not care enough to even try. Paid for drinks and went to Aroy Dee who were much more friendly. Won't be back. UPDATE - Just saw the response below from the owner (in Swedish) and it kind of reaffirms my opinion. In the past, we had asked if they could cook the pasta with just tomato sauce or olive oil & chili, and it was no problem. Simple requests on a few items that are easy to make, and we were always happy to accomodate. So no, your response one year later after my initial review does not make me inclined to come back again. You lost a group of 6 to 8 golfers who used to come to your restaurant a few times a year. Unless something really changes, we will not be back. Well, what can I say. There is an abundance of choice for a Sunday roast in Pattaya. However I have to say that the Golden Ferret is 100% up there.

We went in a bit later on a Sunday night, I ordered the roast lamb dinner and the partner ordered grilled pork steak.

The lamb was soft and tender and full of flavor. The roast potatoes were crispy and mash had great texture, not lumpy.

The veg tasted very good too and the Yorkshire was nice too.

The partner’s pork chop was tasty and well seasoned. I love grilled tomatoes where she does not so it was happy days for me.

The chips were also fantastic and very tasty.

The staff were friendly and. My partner is Filipino and rice is life. After ordering it on the side there was no issue at all and smiles with good rapport.

Drinks were reasonable and extensive drink menu.

03/04/23 I returned here today to try the fried liver, bacon, onions with mashed potato, and peas. It was delicious.

31/03/23 I had one of the Friday specials Fried Fish and Chips with peas. I normally do not eat battered fish as I prefer fish grilled. As it was not an option, I decided to try the battered fried fish. I wish I hadn't. The fish fillet was very thin and was falling apart and out of the batter. I only eat less than half of it. The chips were bland as though made from old soft potatoes, or cooked for too long in low temperature oil. However, the Banana Split for dessert was a large helping and was very good.
