Cafe' O Bar — Restaurant in Phang-nga Province

We have been here for dinner the second day now and are very pleased. Had Thai food the first day (sorry forgot to take some pictures) which was very nicely flavoured, I ordered spicy and it was! But not unpleasant. Today we had western food, which also was of high quality and good taste. The thing we like the most about this restaurant (besides its very good quality for reasonable prices) is the staff: it's a family business and you feel that. Always very polite, very warm and in good mood. They look after you and the food is cooked, served and decorated with passion. Even the small side-dish salad had a tasty vinegrette on it - it's those details. In addition they mix great fruit shakes and cocktails! The young gentleman at the small bar always comes to ask if they are ok for you, always has an eye for your next whish.

There is also a laundry service for 60thb/kilo. Ready the next day, clean, nice smell, well ironed.

Another great find in Khao Lak. Many places here are not Thai in my opinion. I say that as a well travelled person in Thailand for 20yrs. The problem is that Khao Lak has become so commercialised it's lost its authenticity. Anyway, this place here; Cafe O Bar is just perfect and spot on! Pad Thai was tasty, papaya salad was good, mince pork with basil was not minced but slices of pork swimming in oil. Staff lingered close to us waiting for us to finish and took plates away before we were done, got told at 20:45 that they close at 20:30 when Google and trip advisor both say they shut at 22:30. They clearly just wanted to go home as it’s low season and we were the only customers so they could’ve just communicated that and warned us when we arrived they’d be closing early. Customer service...
