Seeing as im up super early and maps said this opens at 6am i wanted to kill some time so off i went. Pretty old establishment and even the chair i was sitting on felt like it could break. That didn't stop me from wanting to try it though. Uncle told me to grab menu and after I looked then his wife i believe took the order. I went with pad kra pow beef. In America they usually do it minced beef but here i was surprised to get beef slices. If you're from the west just think of Chinese beef and broccoli. I believe it's the same cut that is tenderized Silky texture. I ask for phet phet because I was disappointed in spice in my short time here. It tasted spicy but wasn't sure so I added more table chili and yes it was very spicy my nose was definitely running. Remember to bring your own napkins. I also got morning glory with rice. They gave a lot of beef and morning glory. I will probably just order the pad kra pow only next time. As morning glory seemed ok. The pad kra pow definitely was a 5 for me. Morning glory probably 3.5 total was 130. I will be back.
Ate here 3 times now
2nd time had morning glory with beef which was excellent and spicy. 5 stars on this dish
3rd time had morning glory with crispy pork and was spicy 3.5 stars on this one. the crispy pork seemed a bit dry.
3 weeks since I been back and the flavor are as good as I remember it.
Got pad kra pow beef again and it was good as I remembered it.
I can't promise how you will get treated but the flavors are better than most places in the area. I was glad to be back after a few weeks of absence.
so today 3 may 2025 i decided to try pad kra pow pig for the first time here and i thought i was going to get minced pork but i actually got pork slices. it was definitely spicy but the overal flavor was ok. for context i have a high standard with foods and the most i could give this dish was 3.5 out of 5. it might sound crazy but the best pad kra pow pig i had was from 7-11 since i been in thailand. i guess i'll stick to morning glory with beef. or go back to morning glory with...
Read moreA place hidden in a small street where you can taste the Thai home cooking. It's only 350m from the BTS station: Phra Khanong.
This local restaurant is mainly frequented by the locals and sometimes the foreigners. It is managed by a couple who can speak Mandarin Chinese. They still provide good service with their limited English.
The place doesn't look like a typical restaurant that you can imagine but it is the cooking that counts.
I ordered a Squid Pad Thai (65€) and a Stir Fry Morning Glory without meat (70€). Despite of a bit of too salty, that being my personal taste, I had enjoyed my meal. You don’t have to order any drinks if you don’t want to. You’ll be served with iced water and a jug of water if you need more anyway. This is a plus as you won’t find it many places that offer water freely and voluntarily! ⭐️
It was so hot on the day I was. I was surprised by the thoughtful woman who turned on the fan and facing me. ❤️
This is truly a very local Thai restaurant that shows the Thai warmth and kindness. 👍🏻
If you pass by this area, do not hesitate to dine in or takeaway for breakfast, lunch or dinner. There are a lot of choices to choose from. It is way cheaper than anywhere you can find in touristic area in Bangkok!
Price reasonable =...

I tried the stir fried pork with chili and salt, very traditional Cantonese style , love it
My mom hv curry powder with prawn, very tasty and suitable for people who cannot have spicy food. Best serve with jasmine rice
Wanna try the wonton and stir fried instant noodles next time. Uncle Liu used pork to make wonton so I am looking forward to have it as I am allergic to prawn.
Uncle Liu can speak Cantonese and his wife Mrs Liu can speak Mandarin fluently, very happy to chat with them, both of them are hard working - work from 5am to prepare the food and operate the restaurant from 6am to 8:30pm Don’t miss out the tasty food and support the Liu’s couple
