Santa Monica Diner Bangkok — Restaurant in Phra Khanong Tai Subdistrict

I'VE followed the review and went to this place and it was a big disappointment... Again, I shouldn't follow the review so much as people tend to give easily 5 stars when the place on reality is not terrible... I'll start by telling you that this is a really expensive place and it's not worth it!

1. The minute you're arriving, you are not feeling welcome.... and when they owner of the place are taking your order, you don't feel any enthusiasm, nothing ...
2. The place from outside looks nice but inside it's not terrible... This is the trick ! See some local restaurants from outside look like nothing but inside it's amazing the smiles the smell of the food ect... This place has nothing of it...
3. When you're ordering something that you saw on the menu on Google they are telling you that they changed the menu and didn't bother to amend it on Google....
4. The food was not terrible I've had a cheese burger and a vanilla milkshake, the milkshake was tasteless, the burger was just ok and the French fries were not home made ( frozen industrial French fries) and they were not cooked ... My partner had a mini pizza 4 cheese with tomato sauce ?? Since when we replace cream by tomato sauce for a 4 cheese ? The pizza was not really good as well...
5. For the payment you want to pay by card and they owner tells you that the machine is broken ... Couldn't you give this information whenever we arrived? I would not recommend that place as the food and the experience overall is not good ... and it is very expensive for...

This place is just not good. Speaking as an American, it really is not authentic American food and for the most part it is quite overpriced. Ingredient quality is actually not bad, which may explain how overpriced it is, but the food itself is not made well by Thai or American standards.

We got a water, one cheeseburger, one set of pancakes, and one order of Texas cheese fries for an absurd total of 644 baht. The burger patty was thick and the buns were decent quality, but it hardly had any taste to it. The fries were decent, but there were no jalapeños or chilis on it like the menu said and the melted cheese tasted very low quality. The pancakes not only looked totally different from the picture, but were horribly small, dry, flavorless, and served with what must have been some kind of diluted honey considering how it tasted.

Is it authentic in the sense that the menu offerings were American items? Yes. Is the taste of anything actually authentic or even good? No. Not in the least. You're far better off going to a normal fast food chain or just making your own food at home using a YouTube video. I hope one day whoever the cook(s) are can educate themselves on how to make a decent meal worth the price...

My team was craving some authentic American burgers, Mac & Cheese, milkshakes and more so we fastened our seatbelts and visited Santa Monica Diner.

We ordered Double Cheese Burger, Mac and Cheese with Broccoli, Philly Cheese Sandwich and more.

The food - every single dish was amazingly delicious. It tasted natural, fresh and truly American.

The cheeseburger Patty was thick, the burgers were big, the sandwich was also big and delicious. Great portions.

There’s plenty of parking in the adjacent parking building so don’t worry about that.

Also there’s plenty of space in the diner itself. Moreover the entire area is super open, comfortable and has a great vibe.

We loved all the food, the portions and everything else that came with the experience.

Our verdict - pretty much the best burgers and milkshakes in the area.

I really wanted to try their apple pie - but they ran out of it by the time I ordered so...
