To my Hua Hin locals….A new Mediterranean/Spanish restaurant has just opened on the Beach. Gregal Mediterranean food has a great atmosphere, great food and it is a beautifully decorated restaurant.

The food was amazingly good, very satisfying. If you are looking for real, traditional Mediterranean food, Gregal is the place. Here is a collection of authentic Mediterranean food that looks extraordinary (I have yet to order much, but the menu is inspired). Above all, the hospitality shown from Roberto (Owner - he and his wife own Little Spain on Soi 102) and his wait staff in particular was stellar. They have a GREAT crew here.

We all know the benefits of the Mediterranean diet and it appears as more than some of these are their own recipes. Many of the menu items have been given by friends and family who live in the Mediterranean (Roberto is Italian, his wife is from Spain). Even though these recipes are from different Mediterranean locations, they all have one thing in common, they are all made with the pride, flavor, and extraordinary freshness that Mediterranean food is known for.

I ordered a simple Hummus and Tzatziki plate that was outstanding. The pita bread was fresh baked and the crudités of Kalamata olives, cucumbers, carrots, and fresh veggies was outstanding. My family and I came to this place because the food at our hotel wasn’t great. I didn’t have high expectations, but I was completely blown away.

I ordered the bruschetta, vongole pasta, and tiramisu. Every dish was impeccable—the pasta was perfectly al dente (which is so rare!), and the bruschetta had just the right balance of flavors.

And then there was the tiramisu. I hadn’t even planned on writing a review—until I tasted it. It was absolutely incredible. Immediately, the best tiramisu I’ve ever had in my life. Perfectly spongy, creamy, and light, without being overly rich. You could tell it was homemade in the best possible way.

The staff were wonderful—attentive, friendly, and helpful. The manager even checked on us multiple times and made great recommendations. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a cozy, homey feel. I especially loved the jazzy music playing throughout our meal—it made the experience even more enjoyable.

Final verdict: An ABSOLUTELY AMAZING small beachside restaurant....

I’ve been to this restaurant several times now, and it never disappoints. Every visit feels like a little trip to the Mediterranean. The atmosphere is always welcoming, with a relaxed vibe that makes it easy to enjoy a long meal.

My go-to dish is the salmon, and it’s consistently excellent. The fish is cooked perfectly every time — tender inside with a light crisp on the outside — and seasoned with herbs, olive oil, and a hint of lemon that makes the flavors pop. The sides, like roasted vegetables and fresh salads, always feel vibrant and healthy, not just filler.
