We were really excited to come in and try the burgers, we are staying in Hua Hin for at least 3 months and was hoping this would be our new vegan hot spot, due to the reviews and the look of menu.
My partner is Thai, so he ordered the jackfruit burger (speaking in) Thai. Very clearly advised that he has a strong allergy to tomato, and emphasised it a couple times to the waitress.
The burger came out with tomato sauce on the side, luckily I noticed, so he asked them to check on the food and it turns out that the bbq sauce already has tomato in it. If I hadn't noticed the tomato sauce on the side (which should've have been there either) he would've eaten something he is literally allergic to that could cause anaphylaxis?! 😡
Upon returning the food, the chef came out and we overheard the waitress confirm to the chef that she was aware of my partner's allergies yet she did not advise this to the chef.. seriously? 😡😡You're potentially gambling with someone's life when you don't pass this information on and it's extremely serious!!
Appreciate the chef's concerns however for 250 tbh the burger was very small, and the taste was, very average. I have been in Thailand for 7 years (and vegan the whole time) and this is by far one of the most bland and overpriced food I've had.
The service was extremely underwhelming too, for most of the time there wasn't really a waiter in sight and we had to wait about 10 minutes to order when we were the only waiting table in the restaurant? (The other couple tables had already been serviced).
So in total we got 2 x burgers at 250 each plus a can of ginger ale at 30 baht.
I really don't care about the money but from a service point of view, why wouldn't you offer some type of discount, let us have had the extra fries, or wipe off the cost of the soda when you've just done something extremely ignorant and dangerous that could have had serious consequences, as some kind of good will gesture to show you cared about your customers. I would've considered coming back if we had any type of recognition of what had happened.
I would've been willing to forgive that, mistakes can happen, but this is sheer ignorance. Without even an apology from the waitress who took the order.
The cashier apologised when we paid, I told her this is serious and made sure that the feedback gets passed on. Hopefully it will.
All in all, very over priced and average food, small portions (we literally left hungry, the burger is flat) terrible service and do NOT risk it and go here if you have any kind of allergy.
There is also another Google review on here from another person who also had an issue with this so it's clearly a common theme.
I really hate to give bad reviews but this is absolutely appalling especially for a high...
Read moreThis restaurant is highly underwhelming and doesn't deserve any stars! I eat here twice as struggled to find anywhere else that was totally vegan in Hua Hin. The food is tasteless and the menus are quite boring and there's nothing that jumps out at me that I would want to order. Also I don't know why the majority of dishes in a Thai vegan restaurant has chickpeas included. I expect to get these in Middle Eastern restaurants. The service here is appalling and so slow. On my 2nd visit I ordered the yellow tofu burger with fries. The waitress asked if I wanted one portion? I'm eating in the restaurant on my own why would I want two meals. Anyway the food was disappointing. I was hoping to get fresh potato chips instead of frozen fries. The tofu burger was a bland piece of tofu fried in breadcrumbs with no flavours whatsoever. The bread bap was all wet and sticky assuming from the wet lettuce. Highly overpriced and shockingly poor quality vegan food. I went into the restaurant hungry and came out hungry and with indigestion. I've been all over Thailand and this would have to be the worst vegan restaurant I've experienced. Definitely won't be coming back for a third time and can't wait to...
