Charoen Krung Kitchen - Thai Street Food Restaurant Hua Hin — Restaurant in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province

We stumbled into this place, and were immediately greeted by the very friendly owner. Like most Thai places, we couldn't see any vegan menu options, but on asking the owner, we were reassured that she could make anything on the menu vegan or vegetarian (and understood exactly what this meant - eggs and fish sauce were specifically called out by her as not appearing in the food she'd make). Therefore, we happily ordered one pad Thai tofu and one fried rice tofu, at which point she removed the sauces that contain fish sauce from the table for additional peace of mind. The food was freshly cooked and came quickly, was very tasty and the fried rice contained an unusual ingredient which was apparently some kind of coconut stem - very tender with an umami taste.

Overall, we liked it so much we came back the next day for lunch. This time we had Thai tofu yellow curry and tofu vegetable noodle soup. Again, very tasty, and I should mention, good value for money. I think we spent about 150 baht for each meal, and that did both of us.

The place has a more modern look than many, and we at first thought it might be a bit westernised. Having eaten there, I can assure you that it is authentic Thai food. There is even a toilet, which may see small, but hasn't been present everywhere we've eaten.

We're traveling and coming from Vietnam, to be honest we've had some difficulties to find an authentic Thai restaurant, most of the local restaurants are made for tourists and are not authentic but this restaurant is stunning! The explosions of flavors when you enter the restaurant and the amazing noise of the kitchen, this place remind me the restaurants in Vietnam where the kitchen is a part of the restaurant in the restaurant, the food here is really amazing delicious! I will definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone that visit Hua hin, great food, great local atmosphere and friendly staff , the is only 1 thing that could sarrow the experience.. Please ensure that your male cashier has some knowledge of basic mathematics because when the bill is 455 thb and we give 1000 thb were expecting to receive 545 thb in return not 445 and when we reporting you the mistake we're expecting to get the 100 thb missing without any arguments of the cashier which obviously don't have mathematics basic knowledge but furthermore is arguing that we are wrong when we are right 😉... We just hope that it was a "honest" mistake because otherwise it can ruin the reputation of your restaurant if one of your cashiers is taking more money than the bill on...

Update: I have eaten two more dishes at this restaurant. The chicken stir fried in curry paste was very delicious. Chicken was tender and spice level was perfect. Pig blood soup was good, but didn't have the same "wow" factor as other dishes here. Good place to eat!

I love this little restaurant. Stopped in for dinner tonight and was pleasantly surprised. Prices are excellent. Flavor of the food is excellent. Servers are excellent - so friendly and attentive. Ordered green curry with chicken, a side of rice, and a bottle of water, for a total of 95 thb. Curry was perfectly spiced and so flavorful. The vegetable they add to this dish is coconut shoots, first time I had tried this, and it went perfectly with the sauce. The only negative is that it's right on the main road, so traffic is noisy. But forget that, the food and the service and the prices can't be beat. I will return here...
