Jim's Bar Gulf of Thailand Soi 80 — Restaurant in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province

Most of the bars along Soi 80 are very alike to look at. The difference comes in who occupies the space. My partner and I stayed in Hua Hin for a week with friends who knew the locals, and this bar was the beginning of the local treatment in Thailand for us. Jim is a legend, and if you spend the time you won't just be getting drinks and good food at his bar. Took us deep sea fishing overnight, off the coast, caught a feast and cooked it up the next day for the whole strip. Jim is well loved by the community and by the time we left, he had me wishing I was living there, working for him. If you do end up finding yourself there, tell him Sam and Nat will never forget the hospitality...
