Considering this is my 40th visit to Thailand over multiple towns and municipalities, my meal here at KOTI Restaurant is my absolute worst experience and even the local police is involved over a fried fish dish.

My friends and I saw that it was a fairly busy restaurant (since it’s just opposite the night market and right besides a pretty good massage parlour and decided to pop in right after an evening massage session.

After ordering with KOTI’s staff, friends and I were surprised that a 500 Baht Fried Fish that was supposed to be topped crisp garlic flakes arrived within 5 minutes. Way before all the other easily cooked dishes were served. We dug in and were dismayed that it was lukewarm and the garlic crisps were slightly soft and soggy.

Got the staff’s attention and we requested that we want a freshly fried fish and not one which was left on the side due to a possible mis-order by a previous customer. As incredibly well-travelled Singaporeans who are obviously very discerning over food, the fish was absolutely not acceptable.

They not only refused to prepare a freshly fried fish, the lady boss of KOTI Restaurant actually had the cheek to call the police to settle the issue (We presumed that they told the police they we were not going to pay for our meal; which is ludicrous)

The police arrived, mediated and I finally relented and offered to pay for the barely eaten fish as it was our 4th and last evening in Hua Hin and we really had no intention of following the Policemen back to the station.

The rest of the dishes were served and it was really just average and over priced. We understand that this is apparently a very busy restaurant in part due to it’s very visible locality. An Absolute tourist trap. Don’t be deceived by their crowd as most unsuspecting tourists usually follow the crowd.

Eat at KOTI at your own risk. We felt incredibly bitter about the experience as it was clearly an act of bully by the Boss and staff of KOTI who behaved like thugs and very arrogantly towards us. I have no intention of visiting Hua Hin again because of...

Disappointing Experience – Needs Improvement ⚠️🍽️ This restaurant has been serving since 1932, but unfortunately, it seems like they haven’t made any real improvements over the years. 🏚️ The food itself is delicious, and the plates are well-prepared, but everything else feels outdated and worn out. The entire place desperately needs renovation to match the expectations of modern customers. 🏚️🔧

Slow & Indifferent Service ⏳🙄 One of the biggest disappointments was the service. The staff seemed uninterested, slow, and unmotivated, almost as if they were tired of working for so many years. 😒💤 With the high number of customers, especially due to the restaurant’s prime location across from the night market, they don’t seem to feel the need to improve or provide better service.

Not Worth the Visit – Better Options Available 🚶‍♂️❌ While the food is good, there are many better places to eat in this area where you can enjoy both great food and excellent service. 👍🍽️ If you're just curious, you can give it a try, but don’t expect a high-quality dining experience. Personally, we don’t plan on returning.

Unpleasant Payment Policy 💳💰 Another major drawback is their unfair credit card policy. Unlike any other place in the city, they charge a commission fee for credit card payments. 🤨❌ This feels like an unnecessary extra charge that adds to the overall unpleasant experience.

Final Verdict – Think Twice Before Going 🤔⚠️ If you’re looking for a memorable dining experience, this might not be the best choice. While the food itself is good, the lack of improvement, poor service, and extra charges make it not worth the visit. There are plenty of better options in the area, so it’s best to consider other restaurants instead. 🚶‍♂️🍽️

Would not recommend unless they make serious...

First time here in Hua-Hin without know about this restaurant. With 91 years experiences. No doubt on how famous and tasty all dishes. Easy to find by located opposite of night market in Hua Hin. Worldwide tourists come to test and taste local Thai cuisine. Queue time could be long if you come during dinner. but won’t be that long because you will enjoy looking at menu and decides what to order and get excited every time when humble waitresses and waiters serve any dishes. Well organized menu and fast service when cleaning and get an order.

Vibing around surrounding by night market opposite side, traffics, and queues that make overall perfect.

Humble Owner and salute to all chiefs who make such a wonderful dishes for us.

Mine, we ordered Glass noodles salads with seafood, minced pork, chillies and lime’s sauce this dish, without word to describe how tasty, spicy, and especially glass noodles that so soft but bouncing in your mouth. Moreover with fresh seafood. Strongly recommended this dish. I ate all of the soup and the dish was so clean from how tasty it was

boiled rice with seafood another dish with fresh ingredients, crunchy and almost taste like porridge. Give your tummy warm from herbs

crab omelette you don’t need to worry about white inside crab because all has been removed since start. With perfect temperature. No oily at all but crunchy and smell of crab make you to order more rice

Price may look expensive but all worth every currency.

Payment in cash, scan QR code and accept credit card.

Will come back to taste more...

I came to Hua Hin many times for 20 years, but this is my first time visiting this restaurant. This place always busy every time I come and I was not patient enough to be in the que as night market is just across the road. I ordered the recommended dishes that I read from reviews. (1) Stir fried Seafood (Pad Kee Mao Talay / ผัดขี้เมาทะเล) - it is good. 👍 (2) Deep Fried Prawns with garlic (กุ้งทอดกระเทียม / Goong Tod Gratiam) - Great dish 👍 . Big prawns, the prawns are still moist, still can taste sweetness of the fresh prawns, not much seasoning topping but the deep fried garlic is delicious which makes it great combination. I ordered Stir Fried Morning Glory - delicious. It is classic style of Thai - Chinese cooking. Taste is not strong but well-balanced. If you expect strong taste of this dish, then this is not for you. But I like it. Another dish I ordered, stir fried crispy pork belly with green bean and Thai curry paste. I find the crispy pork belly is a bit dry and tense. Strong taste of curry paste but lack of flavour. Service is good. Food was not too long too wait, although the place was full. Drinks and Ice are a bit pricey.
