As we had a countdown dinner, only festive set menu is available, which was 1400 bahts per person.
Food was terrible like leftover. I had a pasta with pork rib. The pork rib was very dry and chewy. The sauce of the pasta was like Pad Thai mixing with Italian tomato sauce. It was quite confusing and didn’t taste well. Luckily the pasta was hot.
Service was messy. Waitresses kept asking us if we had the main course or not. We just finished the starter and were waiting for the main course. Then the dessert came for a sec but a waiter took it back.
The dessert was a slice of Panettone. It’s taste was normal but the presentation made me feel like… the chef just wanted to make it quick, so the chef just cut it in a random size and threw it on a plate.
The interior looks like a fast food shop. I was surprised that it shows itself as a romantic restaurant in google map. The outside is better and suitable for family or dinner with lots of friends. It is not a good idea if you want to have a nice dinner with your partner.
I have no idea why it is a 4.8 star restaurant on google. I also can’t understand why it is a restaurant in a nice hotel. It was a very special experience for...
Read moreHIGHLY RECOMMENDED Have stayed before in HOMA but was reluctant to try VIVA because of the mixed reviews. Luckily I have now given it a try and can not at all understand the poor reviews. Beautiful outdoor terrace with garden atmosphere and nice view, tables under umbrellas nicely set with cloth as well as high quality paper napkins, flasks of olive oil, Balsamico, chili oil as well as salt and pepper grinders. Had a mixed salad, at 150B not inexpensive but a portion that could serve two, served with bread sticks and fresh house baked Italien bread of unbeatable quality. I would suggest offering a small or 1/2 salad for 100B. The prosciutto et fungi (I believe king oyster?) pizza had a thin but firm crust with nice edges, sliced which you could pick up and fold each slice in half and cleanly eat with your hands. In over 10 years have never been served such a pizza in Thailand, was superb. And to top it off a small sweet on the house when paying the very reasonable bill. Service was impeccable, friendly and attentive without disturbing, fulfilling every wish. Have never eaten so well in Phuket and already look forward to my next...
Read moreExcellent all round. As a Homa Resident, I'm extremely lucky to have such a facility on-site. They offer a glorious breakfast set for 250baht, with hearty portions. Wife and I have become big fans of the Thai menu here too, much bigger portions - along with healthier use of oil/ingredients than any local restaurant compared. Meals come with complimentary bread, which is a delightful touch. I want to make particular comment about the staff - they are attentive, on-fire when it comes to responding to your requests, and I get the vibe they genuinely care with their greetings and service. Cuadro the Italian GM is also a delight; personable, professional, and makes sure you're truly looked after. Viva was definitely the figurative cherry on top 🍒for our stay at Homa. And it seems welcome to anyone outside too. Comfortable working environment, naturally bright, with plugs within arms reach and seats that'll keep your bottom happy. The only feedback would be: the coffee could do with some work to compete amongst local barristas. Other than that...
